Wow that came out great! What tools did you use to cut it? I've done those before and haven't been able to find anything that cuts them well.

Thank You (all). I tried using the special funkin carving tools and they worked OK, but I found a skinny exacto knife works best for details. I cut the holes a little smaller than I need them and then use the exacto to clean them up. It doesn't leave the jaggedness that the carver does.

Great job!! I would have surely torn the pumpkin to shreds trying to do those little cuts.

FUN⋅KINS are synthetic pumpkins that are carefully crafted and painted by hand to look just like real pumpkins. They can be carved and lit to look like spooky works of art just like pumpkins. They are made hollow so there is no scooping of seeds and pumpkin guts necessary. And they never ever rot, so carvings last forever!

So say there ads!

Confucius, if you are carving real pumpkins, put vaseline on the exposed edges, and that will help keep them from drying out too fast.

Confucius101, it's not a stupid question at all. So many times I have carved a pumpkin only to have go to mush in a couple days to a couple weeks. Vaseline works good. You could also try sealant, clear matte, but you can't use an open flame after. Nothing will allow you to keep it forever (that I know of). That's why I now use Funkins (fake foam pumpkins) for the more elaborate designs, and real ones for basic faces.

Oh yeah, I am a bit of Sci-fi geek. I love me some Dr. Who. I just wish I could find a 9th doctor pattern.
