This is not my house, it's about an hour away from me but I had to post some pics because it's so amazing. The owner is a carpenter by trade and he is an unbelievable craftsman. He built the entire facade, columns, fence, and chair completely out of wood and painted the stone finish. It is by...

First I covered the giant pool noodles with spray foam. The next part was probably the most difficult. I used a machete to shave down the foam and then used a Dremel tool to carve a chunky wood grain into the foam. I then started to paint the first dark layer The second layer of paint The...

I'm planning to use wood frames for the garage haunt this year (most likely covered in black plastic). I had originally hoped to find 2x4s or 2x3s for cheap at Lowes or Home Depot, maybe with rejected, aged, or warped wood. However, before I get too far into the preparation, can I go thinner on...

In Michigan we are expecting snow flurries next week. I don't know about you but I'm sick of the frigid weather during Halloween. I'm going to embrace diversity and suck up to Global Warming like a Hoover Vacuum cleaner. I've purchased two SUV's and I'm burning multiple wood burner stoves in...

Hello all, I found this tutorial online, and thought it looked very useful --- perhaps for making PVC posts, fences, etc. to look like wood. You could probably add some great stuff knots to break up some of the smooth PVC uniformity. Full tutorial here...

Totally unplanned, uncared for, it just very slowly.... happened, and it happened at the corner of my yard, right where most people stand to take possibly their first look at my house. 30 years ago I mounted a dirt bike into the huge dent in the side of my car, complete with skeletal bike rider...
