Started building my Living Tombstone inspired by Paul Kreutz. Taking a bit of a different approach. Stone is 1-1/2" pink styro with 1/4" luan ply backing. I'm using a 1/4" rod end to attach the mannequin face to the stone's backing. A 10" round piece of luan will get glued to the back of...

I want to attach some silk roses to a headstone and make them look like they were cast into the stone. I usually apply 2 coats of DryLock over the foam. Do I try to attach with monster mud and then the Drylock ? I want the flowers to look natural on the stone.

Partsman's Note: I'm proud to post up Keeba's Tombstone Tutorial, Keeba was the first of my inspirations for making my own tombstones. I've had many great teachers since then, many on this very forum, but Keeba was the first. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have. Unfortunately I cannot...

This is the back (fortunately) of the new Remus Lupin stone we made this year. We've been setting our graveyard up for years and this never happened before - we must have just put this one in the wrong spot. Sunlight reflected off a window and melted the foam away. Anyone else ever had this...

My husband got an order from Kohl's yesterday and I couldn't help noticing that the box seemed to be tombstone shaped so of course I made it into a tombstone to stand up in my coffin. A little black paint, a little of that stone texture spray, some clear acrylic sealant and a few styrofoam...

A few years ago I made a Gargoyle headstone and decided to make it look a little like marble. This past summer it got knocked over and broke and needed some repair - which ment having to give it a new paint job. I wanted to keep the marble look so I took photos as I went so people can see how I...

First up the Facelift stone. I really hated (happens when you let the kids decide on names) this stone and it ran its course so ... updated it Before: After:

Anyone have an amusing epitaph to add to a Stella Live tombstone I'm working on? It sits over a breathing grave and I feel it needs more than just the name but I can't think of anything!

Ok, guys. I'm looking for some advice and suggestions Who here has used REAL candles for outdoor decor? Are there some kinds that are better than others? Tricks to keeping things lit? I've used real candles in both pumpkins and glass jars, and a couple of the '7 day candles' from...

I always call where I live a little town, but it's really a small city of 40 000 people. A year or so ago, a group took over an old school building and reinvented it as a STEAM center and maker space. For a membership fee, you can visit and use the facilites and the tools they have there, and...

Took a cheap store bought stone added a back to thicken it up, a base and some skulls. Used gorilla wood glue, great stuff foam and tooth picks to hold it all together, roughed it up a bit and threw some paint on it. Quick and easy!

This is my first Halloween in my own house, and I want to go big. Since I have a bunch of medieval armor already, I figured I should make my home's front deck look like the battlements of a castle. But in researching for it, I've come to the conclusion that I need some advice. And since I kept...

Planning on doing some foam stone / castle walls on the house this year. Was looking for some advice on best paint to use and best way to weather proof it. Was thinking about latex house paint but wonder if it might bee too thick. I see a lot of tutorials where they use acrylic but worry...

I've been working on a motion activated talking gargoyle pedestal. It was inspired by something I saw online. I have built the pedestal and primed it. Here are some pictures. I plan to paint it and the gargoyle Krylon fleck stone. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Looking for some ideas to attach fake stones to tarp to form my cemetery wall. I was inspired by a lot of posts on here to build my own "stone" wall/pillars, unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) I have ones that are prebuilt and made of adobe. This said, making sturdier wooden...

Just wanted to show an idea I had for my obelisk. I wanted to hide my speakers in some rocks but I like this idea better. I started the first two tiers like highburycemetery did but I enclosed the middle tier to be a speaker box. It turned out to be great at improving the speaker boom. It can be...

So I'm still new to the prop building game, and maybe I'm over confident in my abilities after just two nice stones, but I was going to make a fog chiller for our graveyard as well as more tombstones and I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. (no pun intended) While looking over old...
