Hello, I have a scissor mech that I want to hook up to a prop to automatically extend. Any thoughts or diy to automatically extend using a motor or something besides a pneumatic cylinder? Thanks

I got a great deal on some four-foot air cylinders a while back. I'm going to use one of them to make a chair screamer, without the need for a scissor mechanism. Any ideas for the other one? Four feet is a really long throw.

Next prop done for now. I won't be able to dress it out until it's installed in the haunt.

Kind of a long winded video but what the heck. I tend to build as I go so I make a lot of mistakes and modifications but I am pretty happy with how my mech turned out. I think I will move my braces to the back because my ideas for my prop need room in the front of that, but it is a start for...

As I got bit by the bug this year I have been really wanting to make some good props with good mechs in them. After seeing that screaming witch jump out of that chair like 5 feet, that is sort of where I am going, at least with the mech part, my idea will be different. My question is that all...

This is this year's addition... pretty straight forward chair mounted scissor pneumatic prop. In the vid, the pressure is a little low, so he will be faster on Halloween. Only unique addition is that I have the shoulder joint protruding and connected by a string so when it reaches full...

Here is my first attempt at a scissor prop. The prop base is a bowflex workout machine. The scissor mechanism is made from t6061 1x2 aluminum. The prop travels in excess of ten feet. It contains 3 air cylinders, a rotating actuator, 3 solenoid valves, Houdini prop controller and a cowlacious...

Hi all here are a few photos and a short video clip of a scissor hinge I made. I built it from1x1x1x1/8" aluminum U channel, and bolted it together with 1/4x20x3/4" bolts, flat washers and nylon locking nuts. Looking for some input as to mounting the cylinder , I noticed some people mount them...

Hello there, I thought that I might ask the mighty oracle that is this forum about using a wiper motor to operate a scissor prop. I'm thinking that I can use the "Park" feature with the wiper motor for a lighter prop, about 5 or 6 pounds. I want to build a larger size skull prop that flies out...
