I started putting together some of the animation for my popcorn machine I am making for my Carnevil display. I am using an arduino, two relays, and two solenoids to randomly "pop" the lids. I used a dollar store dog dish for the kettle.

So I bought this on clearance for ten bucks. The door opens and closes to it as it should. The noise it is supposed to make however only happens randomly. Not sure what is wrong? Tried a new set of batteries and could only get it to make the sound twice. Suggestions? It is still cool even...
