I could use ideas for the mechanical parts of the sliding mechanism and a hand that comes out to grab the lid and goes back when the lid closes. I thought of using a servo, stepper or small DC motor for the lid. I know a lot of people use deer motors, wiper motors and linkages, etc. but I'm an...

I have a real casket that I’m looking to sale. The reason I have it is because a relative died near the beginning of COVID. They were cremated because we were not allowed to have viewings. Her plot was sold. Casket was never used other than myself and a couple friends taking pictures inside of...

I stumbled across this real add on Etsy for actual coffin nails and graveyard dirt. For the small sum of $6.66 you can own these one-of-a-kind items.
  4. Halloween 2017

I finally found a few picture from Halloween of 2017. That year I was preoccupied with getting married so I didn't take many pictures. My very first coffin! I am 5'4" and I fit inside. I used nails so it was too painful to do so. I had so much fun! I even made one for my cats... I also got...

The coffin is equipped with a variable speed wiper motor. I used 1 1/8th diameter Manilla rope for the handles. After making a jig, I used a 1" 1/16th whole saw for the diameter of the holes. The original plan of fixing the rope handles failed miserably. Instead I duct taped the ends & tacked them.

Work is about to get ugly for me so I need to start my decorative planning pretty quickly. I have limited storage room for any newer items so I am trying to make things as tiny as possible. As the title says, I am thinking about a foldable coffin. If I were to build one (not for actual human...

I have an idea for a safety coffin which is one of those graves with the bell on top in case someone is buried alive by mistake. I am thinking about how to make the bell ring. I know there are those with more electrical knowledge so I am looking for ideas. In general I came up with a couple of...

I'm going to build a "Monster in a box" prop this year. Actually it will be a "Monster in a Coffin" but the effect will be similar. I want to use the prop controller from Monster Guts in my title. I don't want the controller however to be triggered, but to run continuously on a loop. Fright...

Partsman's Note: Here's another how-to from Death Lord enjoy There are lots of places to find how to make a toe pincher casket on the internet, but I couldn't find a single place on building authentic coffins. Above you can see that we have used the dimensions of an actual casket to place our...

So this year I purchased a rotting corpse from Distortions Unlimited and I needed a coffin to display it. Let me just say, there are NOOOO decent coffins to purchase retail! I searched because I didn’t want to build it this year. Well, I ended up having to build one. I’m glad I did because it...

My husband got an order from Kohl's yesterday and I couldn't help noticing that the box seemed to be tombstone shaped so of course I made it into a tombstone to stand up in my coffin. A little black paint, a little of that stone texture spray, some clear acrylic sealant and a few styrofoam...

As usual I did a fair bit of decorating for Halloween, which is probably strange since I live out in the country where I have never gotten any trick or treat activity. I continue to do it every year though; I enjoy it. I try to go for more of an Edward Gorey look but not a gory look. The...

I tried something new. I've made tombstones out of this stuff but wanted to try a coffin. I just need to figure a way to make it shake or something. I am putting a speaker inside for sound effects. I made a (painfully long) video for my blog but here are some photos. It was fun to make!!:o
