History
currently building the attraction for Halloween 2019
About a year ago I began my quest to build my first Dark Ride in my backyard. bought a couple of mobility scooters and built 3 ride cars using the drivetrains of the scooters. I added 30a 24v speed controls, Rf 24v 40a remote on/off switches (I hard wired the remotes to my control panel buttons), and added a tracking system using an Arduino UNO 3 to track the ride cars. I made the track from 1" PEX pipe. (pictured is a Demo version I showcased a "Midsummer Scream" in Long Beach last month) Currently I'm building a 20' by 30' full version of the ride for this Halloween

Amazing! The skeptic in me fears some jerk or jerks will screw it up somehow, or worse, sue you for some imaginary damage.

WOW is all that I can really say!!!......you are so much more Talented than I could ever be, and I LOVE IT!
The other WOW.... is to the fact, that anyone and everyone that has a LOVE for Halloween have not posted a reply to or on your Post.
Applause should always be given to those of us, that are able to THINK "Outside the Box" and do something that not many of us are skilled enough to do.
It makes me Laugh, (in a good way) when you are naming off the parts or types of controls etc that you are using....as I... and most on here, would have No Frigging Idea, as to what the Hell you are talking about??? LOL
You might want to simplifie the Lingo, and just tell us the basics of how it works.
Such as .....you made some rails for it to be guided on......you used 3 Old Scooters as your ride on vehicles .....and you built yourself a smaller version of a RIDE ON.....House of Horrors.
You are soooooo Gifted to be able to build this type of Prop.......and you are now, my Hero! lol
I do understand the basic concept of the Ride..... "but how you control it"?, is way way way way above my head.
Yes......I'm Stupid! LOL
I would LOVE to get into Air Driven props.....I have Compressors.....I just don't have the KNOW HOW ...in order to do it.
I would Love to get into Remote activated Props....and LED Lighting and things like that......I just have No Idea how to accomplish that kind of tecky stuff?

This is fantastic!! I keep telling myself that I'm going to build one of these someday.

I also planned on using the scooters. Besides being cheaper, it will have to be about 20 times less complicated than using powered rails. That always struck me as overcomplicated. My idea is that if I can get the timing right, I can set up the scooter cars to stop and go with just a timer. Your remote control idea actually sounds like it would work better.

Off to do more thinking.
