  1. Lighting: Low Voltage LED ligths - recommendations?

    Halloween Props
Thanks J-Man and others for the recommendations. I'm going to go with a combination this year, including some low voltage spots, and have just ordered several of the RGB floods through Amazon. They seem to be a consensus pick and a good value. Also will pick up some LED floods at either...
  2. Lighting: Low Voltage LED ligths - recommendations?

    Halloween Props
Last minute? - yes. Have never been really satisfied with my lighting, which is incandescent colored floods and white spots, and have been thinking about going fully to LEDs, in particular, low voltage spots and floods. Really don't like all the electrical cords running all over the yard...
  3. Static: Boris Karloff Mummy

    Halloween Props
Really, really nice job! You gotta love the vintage Universal Studios monsters.
  4. Prop Showcase: Drive in theater haunt 2014

    Halloween Props
Snacks "Cost an arm and a leg?" .... it looks like they "ARE" an arm and a leg! Very clever and nicely done. Sure to be imitated (sincerest form of flattery). Just curious - what movies or movie quote snippets did you run?
  5. Static: New Graveyard Monument

    Halloween Props
Great work. I think the scale is just right in relation to the size of the urn.
  6. Mechanical: Need help finding an angle!

    Halloween Props
    It would be 36 degrees.
  7. Halloween 2013 is behind us. What's your plans for 2014?

    General Halloween
Maybe a bit early to even think about new props - my Abby-normal brain needs to settle in for a long winter's nap! One thing for sure, however, will be to better weatherize what I have. The rain and wind have done me in way too often.
  8. Terra's Big Announcement

    General Halloween
Hey, I heard they just love styrofoam ...good luck, Terra!
  9. Static: Witch Shack - window treatment

    Halloween Props
Thanks - some good ideas and some things I had not thought of. Got time to try them out if I hurry. Will post pics after it's all over - whew!!
  10. Static: Witch Shack - window treatment

    Halloween Props
Need some ideas. Building a witch shack with some windows. What is the best method to lightly frost or opaque the windows? The effect is to allow light transmission and blurry images of what may be inside.
  11. Terra's Big Announcement

    General Halloween
Let me add my best wishes. With your husband now having nothing to do, there's no telling what astounding props you will be able to create with his full time help. Really appreciate all the tutorials and advice - you've been an inspiration and I look forward to seeing what new creative things...

  13. Note to self- what will you improve for 2013

    General Halloween
Even though I had to cancel completely this year because of the horrible weather forecast and did not put anything out, I still found myself (once again) working furiously on one of those large, last minute projects right up until we cancelled. Lesson learned - do not start something you can't...
  14. Electronic/Software: 3 AXIS SKULL Rock Band Braintrust - Designers colaboration

    Halloween Props
Absolutely awesome Sadler! What a great concept - a haunted high school dance. The guitar work was spot-on. Yes, lots of hard work and you can be proud of it, for sure. Thanks for sharing with us all. Wasn't in the cards for me this year, due to time constraints, but it is definitely on the...
  15. Static: Spirit Bloody Lantern makeover

    Halloween Props
Nice job Rummy. I've seen the lantern before and always thought to myself, "Why did they have to splatter it with blood?" Yours is a 100% improvement.
  16. Prop Showcase: Terra's Revamped Cemetery with Hell Hound

    Halloween Props
Terra, you clearly have great vision. I love the lava rocks - they really sell the hellhound. If I could make a suggestion at all, someday consider a small (micro) fog machine - $20 or so at Kmart or others, and find a way to channel short, intermitent bursts of steam to one or more locations...
  17. Prop Showcase: The Horseman..... he Rides!!!

    Halloween Props
Excellent work. The level of skill needed to conceive and accomplish a believable prop like this is pretty high. It's going to be outstanding at night with the right lighting. It looks like you were able to truly minimize the ground support structure so that it's almost invisible at night...
  18. Overwhelmed!

    General Halloween
This is the time I say to myself, "You've really bitten off more than you can chew", and this year is no exception. Started another last minute project - never will learn, I guess.
  19. Static: Woof, woof ...whimper, whimper

    Halloween Props
OK Kim, I had to let him out this morning, so I snapped another pic.
  20. Static: Woof, woof ...whimper, whimper

    Halloween Props
Thanks everybody for the comments and advice. I have been looking at Iwata and also Grex
