    Default Ever used Trendy Halloween?

    Saw this site today http://www.trendyhalloween.com/
Most of their stuff is the same/same price as other places I've used. But they have a few things on sale I'd like to get... Has anyone ever heard of/used them before? Experience?

I've purchased several things from them over the last few years. Reasonable or free shipping, and customer service is great! I had a defective
Decrepit Judy prop-they were right on it. Two thumbs up from me

Yeah. I've had good experiences with them as well. They shipped fast too, if I remember correctly. They're safe.

They've been hit or miss with me. Four different times I've ordered life size animatronics and three of those times the items were clearly used. I know the prices are much less, but I wish they'd let you know. And one of the times, the item was completely defective. So a discounted price or not, really doesn't matter if you're receiving junk.

But anytime I've ordered small items, they've been fine.

I forget how I ran across Trendy. Have ordered several times from them. They are decent. If you look around, you can find some really good buys, and I kind of like their shipping deal. If you order over $50 and it weighs under 6lbs, it's free shipping. Obviously not too helpful on bigger props. Otherwise, shipping is upwards of $18 on most orders.

So, the upside to Trendy are the good deals you can find if you look around. The bad side is, literally half the time, you'll get an email telling you that you're Paypal (what I use there) has been credited for the items that they couldn't find in their inventory. As a for-instance, I just ordered three items from them. A mask, a hanging figure and a smaller hanging figure. Of the three, they were only able to complete the mask.

But all-in-all, their customer service in these situations is good. One of my favorite haunt items is this huge hanging 15ft "burnt ghoul" that I ordered from them. I got an email back stating that the ghoul was missing one of its hands, and would I be interested in it for 15% less? I replied that I'd take it off their hands for 20% off, and the deal was done. As it happened, I'd already planned on attaching some "giant zombie hands" from Party City to it, and much to my delight, they worked out GREAT! You'd have thought that they came with the thing.

So, Trendy is fine if you are not dependent on their having the item. If you have to have that certain item and it's getting near to Halloween, you might want to look around elsewhere.

I visited their site 02/15/2019, and made a purchase. Overall, I have to say that the experience was terrible.

First, their "free" shipping on orders over $50 turned out to be only free if you didn't go over a six pound weight. I was set to purchase a number of items, but apparently it was over six pounds and they were set to tack on another $19 for shipping fifty bucks worth of masks and smaller items. I'm used to stores that use free shipping as an incentive, but this was the first that had rules about what free shipping on standard items meant. Especially to the tune of the overall cost jumping by 40%. I wound up buying three masks and paying the shipping for them.

Secondly, they shipped the wrong mask. The order form clearly stated one mask, and they shipped another. I tried to go online and send them an email about it. But every time I tried to submit the form, it told me it didn't recognize the order number. That's right, the order number they gave me kept kicking me out of telling them the order wasn't correct. I tried calling multiple times and all I got was ringing until it hung up. There simply was no way to talk to a person about the problem.

I eventually wound up disputing the charge on my credit card, and Visa agreed that I did what I could. I'm out only time and the mask I wanted, but all in all, that kind of customer service is what will keep me from ever risking an order again. If you get exactly what you order, and you don't go over six pounds for shipping, perhaps they're a good company to work with, but if anything goes wrong, realize you're probably on your own.

    Ever used Trendy Halloween?
I have to admit: I made one more Trendy purchase late last night. Ordered quite a few items. I will hardly be shocked if I get the familiar "It looks like we actually don't have that item in stock after all" -email from them. Probably come Monday. Two items I am seriously hoping they have are this skull on some creepy cloth and a hanging skeleton. With the skull, I hope to train one of those projectors on it with a skull that sort of morphs into view. It could look really cool if it works out right. With the skeleton, I hope to find a suitable clock to place over it's head, much like this scene from a 1920 vampire movie called Genuine. That may very likely be my last Trendy order for a long while.

I am in awe of folks who create homages to movies, books, and other horrors even more obscure than ours. Whenever I have to ask if a prop is referencing something else, I get the biggest thrill when the answer is, "oh, yes, that's from the..." Whatever the answer, seeing a bit of horror history preserved makes any prop that much better.
