We've done this since we started having our annual bash in 2004. Since our last move, we turned the Great Room into the hotel lobby/museum, we actually have Bloody Mary's Bar set up year round (I do add other stuff for halloween), the dining room is the dining room, the kitchen is the Choice Cuts Chop Shop, Guest bedrooms are witch's room & creepy nursery. My hall if full of pictures of all kinds year round, creepy & regular.

I've been to the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, NC a few times. A lot of fun, but I've been out of town the last couple of times it came. I saw the advertisement for this years, and it looked like they've REALLY cut down on the number of celebrities attending. Kind of a shame. But, have a good time if you go!

The video looks terrific! You're right, the random movement is a lot creepier than a constant motion would be. I like it !

Great ideas, Spookie! It all sounds good on paper. I hope it all comes together the way you want it to. Just wondered----why does it need to be transportable?

Looks fantastic so far, J-Man! Your artistic ability seems wonderfully apparent, to me. And good luck with the mechanism. You know I love animated props !

I love ahs I did hear evan is sitting out of this one. My fav is the first season followed by coven and asylum my least favorite was freak show and hotel. I did love the first part of roanoke but the second half sucked. cult I thought was done very well it hit all of the sore subjects and really put in perspective of what people of capable of when push comes to shove. I loved the last season. And ryan murphy is suppose to be in with netflix to do a witchy type series on there.

Like this a lot. We're going to try for something similar. Going to use a Walgreen's skellie and corpse part of it, possibly replace the skull with a more realistic one, then cover it in a shroud of sorts. It will lay on top of the crypt like you've done. Hope to start construction of that by next month. I'll post some pics as we make a little more progress. We've had a "crew" for the past several years, and we typically average between 15-20 helpers to make things run smoothly. Our...

We've been working on props for our Druid Tomb theme haunt. I have 7 skull staffs in the works for some of our crew to carry, a few lanterns and soon we'll start on a crypt build which will be a focal point of one wall and a distraction for one of our main scares. My haunt partner (forum member lewlew) will be carving some foam Stonehenge-like obelisks and monoliths for the front display, as well as some interior catacombs. It should come together nicely. compared to last year, this build is...

Yep. I'll never grow ginormous award winning pumpkins, have a yard full of cool repainted blow molds, or make some of the super cool props others here make, but I definitely want to see ALL OF THAT here.

After having been to the further away At Home fairly near Halloween last year I can say that they do a little bit of everything. From glittered cutesy stuff to generic Fall to scary clowns & bloody stuff. They also do moving props though IIRC they had a TON of inflatables. It's worth at least one trip early before everything is gone.

Looking for a few nice hooded monk/druid robes for this year's haunt. Can be brown or black, must have hoods. The Halloween stores sell a lot of cheap ones so those might work but something a bit heavier/nicer would also be considered. Let me know if you have anything you'd part with, how much you want for it and maybe a pic. We're likely looking at getting 6-7 of them. Thanks!

Well I gotta say that at the least the music is better on this year's Graveyard Party than it has been on some of the other buildings in years past. Some of those older, repetitive soundtracks could drive one to drink. :D

I noticed the Yankee UK flyer states September 2019. In the US they typically release in August. Wonder if it's always a month later for UK or should we expect a later release date for Halloween this year?

Wondering if anyone that picked up the vine black glitter garland on clearance at JoAnn's last Spring might want to part with a few? It was black with glitter about 6 feet long. I bought a few for a project and need a few more. Didn't see it on their site this year. Thanks.

Try local Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, local yard sales & thrift stores to avoid shipping. Etsy has them too & maybe you can work on the shipping costs with the seller, but sometimes they're cheaper sometimes not. Some big stores do sell them you just have to check closer to the date. And there's always Amazon Prime. You can find plenty of blow molds sellers on Amazon. If you hit the right one &/or Amazon fulfills it & you've got Prime you get zero shipping.

That must be GR date for the Halloween Haven stuff or pretty near the release of it all. Now that I have 2 At Home stores to check (one fairly close too) I'm sure they'll have Halloween out in 3...2...1....

Not sure how I missed this but here it is! I like the look of it but it just makes me miss Raoul Julia even more. Yes, John Astin was first & best & great but when it comes to the movies I feel like Raoul nailed it as did Angelica Houston. Not sure if I like Charlize Theron's voice as Morticia in this but that won't stop me from seeing it, especially since it's being released for Halloween.

Sorry if I now have you doubting the authenticity of all of those items, which was not my intention I'd say that if the prices are what you would consider reasonable, take a chance on the one that interests you the most and see if it holds up. Personally, I am just as happy with knockoffs or second-hand goods, but that comes with the territory

I thought that it looked very close to the one in the picture from the flea market. I don't know how much it matters, but the bank is a reproduction. Like you said, much cheaper, no doubt.

FYI, I ended up ordering the Driveway Alert System from Harbor Fright earlier this week for $17.99 plus 20% off but shipping was around $7 :/ so it was higher than I wanted to pay. I heard they occasionally go on sale at that site for around $13.99. I also saw another post that indicated someone found one for around $10... so shop around if you can. I am totally technically and hardware store incompetent and impatient... I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

I'm not sure how I'm going to use the spider at this point... I really just wanted something that would jump and scare the ToT as I only have 1 other graveyard scare prop (graveyard guy pops out from behind tombstone) from Spirit. I'm not really happy with all the stuff right now as its a mishmosh of stuff... no dedicated theme! I really wanted Lucky the Clown from since last year but apparently they don't make them anymore. Since I'm not finding many good looking clown props, I've got the zombie/witch/graveyard/skelly kinda thing going on oh and I'm planning to do AtmoFEAR FX Zombie Invasion in one window and Spectral Illusions Prudence Primm ghost image outside. Nothing is actually out yet... it will likely look like a demented gumbo mixture of props unless I can figure out how to tie is all together. I have a small yard too!

I'm starting to get interested in looking into how to make some of these moving props. If I could make my static zombie female prop move, that would be cool. All this while working full time and taking a class!

Don't forget to share pix of your spider lair when you get a chance.
