I've used some LEDS that would flicker and some that wouldn't but that was a few years ago so . Somewhere in my garage I still have a box of fuses, cords, and boxes. If I get the time to look for them I will put one together and test with the LED bulbs we use at home.

There's a how too on making the below. Very simple to make and cheap....under $7. I use to make and sell these a few years ago and after making 25 or so It only took me 5 minutes from start to finish . You dont have to use the box a electrical drop cord and the fuse and tape will work just as well....under 3 minutes of work. and less than $5. Works best with a 40 or below watt bulb and in a haunted house setting, is all you need. If that.

I've made trees from the brown craft paper too. Depends how close up everyone will be getting and how dark the room will be. It worked for what we needed pretty well. Save that paper when it comes in your Amazon deliveries!

Oh, and that you tube tutorial is perfect. I could TOTALLY do that! I've fixed enough old lamps to feel comfortable with that process. Looks pretty basic!

GREAT idea JW- Thank you! I had not idea these bulbs came in any colors other than the orange. My laundry room is attached to the kitchen and the door is glass. Would be cool to put these in laundry room and mask the glass as you mentioned and maybe have some sort of imposing silhouette figure on the other side of the glass. Could be a super neat effect. Love it!

Oh wow- THIS is what I am imagining! I think $99 is fair if it gets me the effect I am after. This set up is so very cool, JOker!

Last year, I put a lunging snake prop on the counter next to the soap by the bathroom sink. Scared the CRUD out of people all night long. I was so happy!

I am hosting a "funeral home" themed party this year and I typically decorate each room in the house as though it is part of a haunted house walk-through. I am hoping to convert the whole kitchen into a morgue/embalming room. It really would be cool to make the entire room flicker with a greenish/bluish light source. Is this something I can purchase? Or do I need to create the light source to cause the flickering? I am open to both options and would love to see an video tutorials if it is...

Mad scientist lab, of course. Fake leg through the stirrup, and have the good doctor removing half of it. PS I love it BTW.

The opposite effect happened in my neighborhood, every one dialed it down. They told me if I was doing it then they did not have to. Now they all bring their TOTs around with a beer wagon. The sad part is that less people come down my street now, since most of the neighbors are out with their kids.

Industen replied to a thread Fog: Fog Distribution in Yard in Halloween Props
I use a 1 inch grid system with aqua blocks stationed around the yard as chillers. They are super easy to fill and keep the fog super low. I drill a few holes in the pipe here and there to allow some seepage. The main output is left alone. I have 4 blocks and a 1600watt fog machine, works great. I let my grass grow in the areas where the grid is going to hide the pipe. For those unfamiliar with aqua blocks they are typically used for water for weight to keep the edges of your pool cover down...

If you want it real simple. Use a fish caster reel with fishing line(you will not see it). Attach a reversible motor relay to it. Run that motor off a 9v battery(no wires, easy to mount). This will provide the up down movement. Create a small platform and mount a second motor to the center. Attach the 9v motor to the end of the platform so it gets good circular rotation. Then attach that platform motor to the ceiling. You will need two voltage adjusters to slow down both movements since...

They also sell plastic mirror spray paint. Just bend the plexiglas with a heat gun let it dry and spray it.

If you need the motor to stop and reset to parking in an exact postion you would need a Picovolt. Your other option would be to use an electric linear slide actuator if you want to avoid pnuematics. You could also use a bench power supply with a bigger amp rating if you need more then 5amps for the actuators. A picoboo plus has 4 inputs so you can use strobe, act 1, act 2, and wiper motor. Sounds like you can get away with using a 2 input. If both actuators go off at the same time you can...

These boards do work when powered on. A relay would trigger power on. You also need a time delayed realy that goes to the millisecond. You have to find the sweat spot from time delay (sound) to activation. You set the time delay to x then when x ends it activates y. X 2.4 seconds(powered on but idle) Y when 2.4 finishes(plays sound) Don't expect crazy sound from them. I have built many pnuematics with them.

Relays will work. The type is your choice Timed, remote trigger, motion sensor, IF beam, a programmable like Picoboo or Boobox flex. There are remotes with multiple buttons that can control more then one prop. So you could put a fog machine on button 1 and the 12v actuator on button 2 which is the easiest to do. Each button has a different frequency so they don't interfere with each other. If you want it to do the same thing everytime you activate you can use Arduino, Picoboo, Boobox Flex or...
