Rookie, man would love to have some one around my house that loved to do laundry (and not me!) Todays my day off, so no excuses! Gotta get it done. So it's throw a load on, come back to the forum, etc I agree Daughtry is the best, saw him in cincert last summer, I am a big daughtry gfan. But can't wit to see what this Cook kids can do, don't remember nayone that can arrrange songs like he does on there, he's smart and talented. Well , off to that laundry!
I am happy to answer your questions. It looks like you are making one humongous pumpkin head. If that is the case you may want to think about another option for attaching your stem. If your paper mache' form is hollow and you have enough room to reach up to the top from the inside, you may want to make a hole just large enough to pass the stem through. Make the basic form of the stem and cut the wire supports to flare them out before inserting the stem through the top hole. Glue, or fasten the flared part of the stem on the inside of the head. It will give it more strength at the stress point. If this is unclear let me know and I will try to do a better job or restating that concept. Wishing you a fabulous day filled with sunshine (no flowers or kittens though because that would not fit within your tough exterior).
I used Das Clay to add the veins to Morti. There are many faster ways to do this project and many great tutorials posted, but I chose to go this route for a very specific reason. Morti is my first prop and he is kind of a learning lab for me. I wanted to kind of experiment with materials I have never used before. This way I am learning about what worked well and what I would do differently in the future. If you want to see more details of each step, just click on the pictures and I have tried to put helpful information there for viewers. If the finished project turns out well I will do a tutorial to post in the future. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask?
Yesterday was a great day for Madame Turlock. She finally got back to work on Morti and hopes to post updated pictures this weekend. I want to thank my Health & Fitness accountability pals for all the support and ideas they have shared this week. It's a fantabulous group of people and I'm feeling the strength in numbers as we focus on individual goals.
I am holding a couple of good friends close in my heart today as they face extra challenges in life. You know who you are. Just remember I am wishing you the best and will always be here for you as a supportive friend. Sending extra hugs and love your way!
OK I have to admit. I have a bit of a cereal problem myself, but Its not the good adult kind. I love my kids cereals, Peanut Butter Captn Crunch, Lucky Charms, Coco Puffs. Its terrible. One of the things Im trying to do now that I joined the group is eat better cereals. I have to admit though they dont taste nearly as good
Hey Rookie, glad to see you join the health and fitness group. If you ever need some incentive Madame T has some pics she can send you that will put you back on track immediately Im hoping to learn how to eat healthier with the forum so far its been pretty helpful. Have a great day.
Don't scrap that pumpkin too soon. Morti got warped out of shape because I cut him of the pumpkin armature, applied some Celluclay to his teeth and let him sit for a week. When I went to put him back into one piece he had warped. It took two of us to put him back together. Paper Mache' is quite malleable. Maybe I'm just too stubborn but I alway believe there is a fix for everything. Hang in there!
