Everything is looking good. Plants about ready to fall over and start vining. Pics are posted below of where I am at right now. I added a section of silt fence at each opening to keep the wind from harming the plants. We had some pretty strong wind over the weekend. The lows temps are between 50 and 60 at night. We are real close to seeing no more 50s at night. The downside is that the days are getting close to 85 and with two fans running, I am still having a hard time keeping the temps...

Not the same, but I believe I've seen a video for a xenomorph costume that showed the working bits... let me go dig. Edit: Not the one I was looking for, but this gives a good idea how these things are made:

Nifty. I've been debating on those to plant herbs, actually. LOL.

Depends on your surface types, obviously, but I've found paint one of the easiest things to clean. Just let dry and peel off.

Everything pulled through okay last night. Not sure how windy it was but the thunderstorms were the kind to wake you up at night. Between 2 am and when I got home a 6pm, the rain gauge measured 2 and half inches of rain. More rain on the way....

I'd strongly suggest looking at Mr Chickens "mache" over the wood glue version.

Upped the watering tonight to a half gallon per plant every other day. I get the feeling that my plants will start to vine in about a week or so. We have an early spring storm coming our way late tonight. They are forecasting like five hours of thunderstorms. I had some 4ft tall silt fence left so I put another fence barrier about 5 feet in front of the hoop. I am pretty sure that I am over secure, but the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry....... :o.

Shroud tomb. Love it, it's on my to-do list as well. IIRC Davis Graveyard has (had?) a tutorial on one, or at least some pics of the process. They did it around 2012, same time as my first Transi. I'd use the thinnest cloth you can to save as much detail as possible on the form underneath. Might even be able to get away with just cheese cloth and dryloc.

Like this a lot. We're going to try for something similar. Going to use a Walgreen's skellie and corpse part of it, possibly replace the skull with a more realistic one, then cover it in a shroud of sorts. It will lay on top of the crypt like you've done. Hope to start construction of that by next month. I'll post some pics as we make a little more progress. We've had a "crew" for the past several years, and we typically average between 15-20 helpers to make things run smoothly. Our...

Really looking forward to this one. I've been revisiting my old Transi Tomb build, figuring I could do it better...and wondering what I got myself into. Old build at similar stage: New build:

We've been working on props for our Druid Tomb theme haunt. I have 7 skull staffs in the works for some of our crew to carry, a few lanterns and soon we'll start on a crypt build which will be a focal point of one wall and a distraction for one of our main scares. My haunt partner (forum member lewlew) will be carving some foam Stonehenge-like obelisks and monoliths for the front display, as well as some interior catacombs. It should come together nicely. compared to last year, this build is...

Thanks! Yes, just water. The fur is still soft and pliable on the parrot. Full strength paint would make the fur too stiff.

Looking for a few nice hooded monk/druid robes for this year's haunt. Can be brown or black, must have hoods. The Halloween stores sell a lot of cheap ones so those might work but something a bit heavier/nicer would also be considered. Let me know if you have anything you'd part with, how much you want for it and maybe a pic. We're likely looking at getting 6-7 of them. Thanks!

Thanks :) I didn't use the latex on the second or third parrot I did. The latex ended up being like a straight jacket on the parrot. Limited movement on the parrot after he was coated with the latex. He looked good, but I didn't want to repeat that technique. Here are a few pics of one of the UV painted parrots I did.

Well I'm kind of on it/kind of not. I'm under a faux name because I don't want people, long forgotten by choice, to find me. I use it 100% for Halloween stuff. However I must admit I am on it sporadically.

Yes that's where I saw them. Your doing an awesome job!!!!
  5. Buying. I had the opportunity to buy a mold and make my own but figured it's easier to just buy them. I found a great source on Haunter's Hangout and the skulls are nicely detailed and inexpensive. I'll likely get some more as our theme this year will be "skull heavy", whatever that means. I take it you're on Haunter's Hangout?
