Decided on a whim today to pour some concrete in one of the silicone molds to see how it would turn out.....Found out you have to let concrete almost completely dry before removing the mold because it cracks extremely easy when it's still even a little damp....Broke the bones off on both sides of the skull by the time I removed it from the mold and the teeth stayed in the undercut section off the mold....Was still happy with the detail enough to go in the woods to find a rock to cement it...

It would be a lot of work to turn that into a pneumatic prop....It would take 2 cylinders, one to open the lid and another to to pop the creature out....Forcing the creature into the lid to open it would destroy the creature very quickly...The hinges are not nearly strong enough, I'd probably add a piece of plywood for rigidity under the lid and the side the other cylinder is going to attach to....You'd have to remove the bottom and build a base to make it tall enough to make the mechanics work...

I live about 20 minutes from there! It's super awesome. There's actually houses here & there all thru Romeo that are done over the top. I make a point of going every year during the day so I can check out all the details. The local high school football team helps out during ToT, keeping an eye on things & helping with lost kids, etc because insane amounts of people go there. I looked at a house that was for sale a couple years ago - most of the houses on Tillson are cool old Victorian...

Grunge it up first. Paint it gun metal gray or a like color. Cover the padded parts with dirty sheets. Agree that a mannequin of sorts would look cool. I'd have the thing in full recline position and a mad scientist actor next to it. Hell, use a live actor in place of the mannequin and let him and the doctor play off the crowd with some dialogue, etc...

Mad scientist lab, of course. Fake leg through the stirrup, and have the good doctor removing half of it. PS I love it BTW.

The opposite effect happened in my neighborhood, every one dialed it down. They told me if I was doing it then they did not have to. Now they all bring their TOTs around with a beer wagon. The sad part is that less people come down my street now, since most of the neighbors are out with their kids.

I've wanted that Scare Factory organ for probably over 10 years now.....Even if I could afford it, I already have an organ setup now that I couldn't bring myself to let go....You can't have 2 organs in a haunt but I keep looking for the Scare Factory organ....It's madness!....ZR

I've never used Marketplace but I've been watching a ScareFactory organ in Alliance Ohio every day, all week https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/586241635187266/ It's a 4 hour trip 1 way and I don't have $1000 to blow on Halloween.....This would match my ScareFactory fireplace perfect!.....Somebody buy it already so I can quit agonizing over it....LOL....ZR

I was having a less than happy birthday on Sunday and it only got worse. I was pet sitting for a friend and I got the call from my neighbor around 7:15pm... my garage was on fire. Halloween forum friends... I lost 34 years of collecting Halloween stored in my garage and I have nothing Halloween left. :( When I moved to the USA, I fell in love with the holiday and started my collection that first year. The amazing memories, the fantastic deals, and the awesome props both built and bought...

To be clear, I wasn't suggesting 3d printing as the solution in this case....If someone doesn't already have a 3d printer to begin with, it's not practical at all but since someone suggested maybe it's possible with 3d printing, I just wanted to affirm it could be done and also why I said "I just wanted to show how it is possible"....As for strength, people are making working gears all the time....The problem with using a harder substance like nylon to make a new gear is the rest of the working...

I did a quick sketch in Fusion 360 of the main parts to show how it can be done for 3d printing....Here's a quick 20 second youtube video to show the main components.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqR8AF0aqyo You can make the hole any shape you want...The dimensions aren't right and I only made 1 tooth but I just wanted to show how it is possible....If 3d printing I would separate the disk with teeth and the spacer below it so you wouldn't have to use any support when printing and just...

I was thinking about your foam walls for your walk through, you might be wasting your time with my grommet idea. I think it will take too much time and still might not look very good. My new idea is to use vinyl "j-channel". This is the stuff they use for putting up siding around windows. You could attach strips to the sides of your walls (you already have the bottom taken care of with the 2x4.) , then feed the foam through the top. It would hold like a piece of glass in a picture frame. I think it would give a cleaner look and would be an easier way to remove the foam.
It's just an idea so if you don't like it, no harm done. I am also not sure how tight the channel would be against the foam. You may have to research that.

    PS
Just another thought, you could run the channel horizontally in lieu of vertical to save money and avoid the seam between panels.
