Worst vampire....hmm..that's a very good question! Almost even better than who is the best? I'll have to think about that for while & see what I can come up with....worst vampire....wait...are we talking overall performance, looks, what?

Like this a lot. We're going to try for something similar. Going to use a Walgreen's skellie and corpse part of it, possibly replace the skull with a more realistic one, then cover it in a shroud of sorts. It will lay on top of the crypt like you've done. Hope to start construction of that by next month. I'll post some pics as we make a little more progress. We've had a "crew" for the past several years, and we typically average between 15-20 helpers to make things run smoothly. Our...

We've been working on props for our Druid Tomb theme haunt. I have 7 skull staffs in the works for some of our crew to carry, a few lanterns and soon we'll start on a crypt build which will be a focal point of one wall and a distraction for one of our main scares. My haunt partner (forum member lewlew) will be carving some foam Stonehenge-like obelisks and monoliths for the front display, as well as some interior catacombs. It should come together nicely. compared to last year, this build is...

Yep. I'll never grow ginormous award winning pumpkins, have a yard full of cool repainted blow molds, or make some of the super cool props others here make, but I definitely want to see ALL OF THAT here.

After having been to the further away At Home fairly near Halloween last year I can say that they do a little bit of everything. From glittered cutesy stuff to generic Fall to scary clowns & bloody stuff. They also do moving props though IIRC they had a TON of inflatables. It's worth at least one trip early before everything is gone.

Looking for a few nice hooded monk/druid robes for this year's haunt. Can be brown or black, must have hoods. The Halloween stores sell a lot of cheap ones so those might work but something a bit heavier/nicer would also be considered. Let me know if you have anything you'd part with, how much you want for it and maybe a pic. We're likely looking at getting 6-7 of them. Thanks!

Try local Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, local yard sales & thrift stores to avoid shipping. Etsy has them too & maybe you can work on the shipping costs with the seller, but sometimes they're cheaper sometimes not. Some big stores do sell them you just have to check closer to the date. And there's always Amazon Prime. You can find plenty of blow molds sellers on Amazon. If you hit the right one &/or Amazon fulfills it & you've got Prime you get zero shipping.

We got up in the 40s today! (20s again tonight.) The snow cover is back down to about 50%. They're saying 53 tomorrow, and partly sunny, so who knows? Rain Wed, Thu, & Fri, so we might trade our snow for mud for a while. I won't be working in the garden, but I might be able to set my potted herbs back outside. If you folks will forgive an OT shot (since I don't have anything On topic to share yet)--- Here's a "voodoo lily", Amorphophallus konjac. They're related to those enormous...

That must be GR date for the Halloween Haven stuff or pretty near the release of it all. Now that I have 2 At Home stores to check (one fairly close too) I'm sure they'll have Halloween out in 3...2...1....

Not sure how I missed this but here it is! I like the look of it but it just makes me miss Raoul Julia even more. Yes, John Astin was first & best & great but when it comes to the movies I feel like Raoul nailed it as did Angelica Houston. Not sure if I like Charlize Theron's voice as Morticia in this but that won't stop me from seeing it, especially since it's being released for Halloween.

UOO-- The millet looks very cool. I hope it does well! The only millet I've grown has been a few stray white millet plants that came from bird seed. We have Big Bluestem as a native grass here (the indian warrior grass). It gets tall out on the western prairies where there are other tall grasses and forbes for competition, but where I live it's mostly under 3'. It will be interesting to see what that variety does in your markedly different climate. Kdestra-- Is the red husk corn you...

I love all these set ups but I'm far too lazy for such things, I generally plant my all my seeds in whatever I can pull outta the recycling bin!:D I'm also not growing giants or stuff for competition so I feel like I can use recycling for my stuff. So far so good. Yogurt cups work well for me as do salad containers, cut up milk jugs, basically anything that's not metal. I also have some actual leftover planting things from buying past years garden stuff & annuals. I keep the flats they...

Yea, paint that top black or brown then wrap it it twine around the sides. I like to glue things to the stoppers or caps of my potion bottles that might be related to whats in them. (A fang for Dragon venom, a frog for frog hearts.)

It was last years model with bluetooth & it was on sale for $99 (+shipping), that's all I can remember right now. I guess they were trying to get rid of stock before putting the "new & improved 2019" versions of stuff up on the site. I saw bluetooth & went for it. I'm at work right now & the box is still sitting on my LR floor so I'll let ya know which model it was later.

I've noticed that if I'm not logged in nothing is new, especially at work. I tend to not log in, just check out what's new, but for the last week or so I'd visit during working hours without logging in & not a single thread had updated or moved. I log in & everything is OK. Not sure what happens at home because I stay logged in there.

It's really interesting seeing the many different growers' MOs! The different kinds of equipment and the different varieties we're growing-- all fun to see! For the most part, I don't put a lot of money into mine. Since I'm not growing giants, an extra-early start shouldn't be vital. When it comes to seeds, though, I'm not a gambler. Don't get me wrong; this is not a criticism of anyone who plants open-pollinated or randomly-found seeds. I love the forager mentality, and I can see the...

I got one of last years projectors with bluetooth a few weeks ago & was going to post about it here but by the time I bought mine, came here, started to create a thread about it, went back to get the link to it all to put it into the thread THEY WERE GONE!! So yes, we should be checking each week before they all go back up in price.

Maybe burlap on top tied with twine? I agree with JCO, dirty it up a bit. Maybe singe the edges of the paper if you can. Just do something to make the edges less even.

Ugh, finally got myself signed in to make a Wishlist & found out the Teddy & Duck are "limited" ones so you gotta show up when the doors open to get it or just buy it online afterwards like I did last year with the Zombie Merle from Walking Dead. I figured that even though I paid a little more on Ebay for it, maybe $5-$10 more, it would still be worth it since no Hallmark in the area had them or would hold one & if you wait too long the price would go through the roof like the Daryl from...

While I LOVE NBC Hallmark ornaments I feel like 2 Jack ornaments are excessive. But at least they're both Christmas themed. I'd definitely buy the Teddy & Ducks ones for Halloween but I dunno about 2 more Jacks. There's plenty of NBC characters to choose from, I'd like to see them do some of those instead of more Jacks. Like the wreath with teeth. Though after googling I see that Disney Parks had a wreath but still, there's a movie full of cool characters for either holiday.

Sure, no problem! It's interesting how the doll found its way from North Carolina to your location.

I found the name on that doll you posted in findagrave.com:

    findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Hanline&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in& GSob=n&GRid=39635965&

(I'm not sure why, but the symbol to post links isn't showing up for me so I don't know if this will display correctly)

Although the death date is one year off, the month/day date is the same so it's likely her. Looks like she was from North Carolina.
