We live in sunny (and humid in the summer Florida. I think you are right about the amount of moisture spanish moss needs. We didnt try to keep ours alive, so we'll be gathering it again next October
When we were visiting FL, there was a storm and the next morning I went out and gathered up a bag full and took it back home to OK. I hung it in the trees and sprayed it down everyday for about two week, but it never grew. Our temp is up in the 100's and dry. It probably need to be sprayed several times a day. It's so pretty. What state do you live in?
Actually, we got him after Halloween when everyone was having their sales. I just put hin in the fridge as a joke to scare my daughter---no, she wasn't scared (go figure!). We will be using him for next years haunted walk as our theme for 2014 will be "Classic Monsters". This year was our first Haunt and my daughter is already saying that she wishes it was Halloween again!
