It looks from the packaging that they've reversed the colors. So the majority of the board is covered in a dark blue paint and the details and lettering are negative so they glow. Just doesn't have that same faux antique look.
That's incredibly generous to offer Dave but I think I should be ok if it gets to that - just sent some stuff a friend on the boards in NYC and she's anxious to return the favour.
I'm from Calgary, Alberta so the other side of the country. We haven't made it east of Saskatchewan yet, so you out-Toronto me. We hope to get out to the eastern part of the country soon though. Niagra Falls sounds beautiful. We'd like to get out to the Atlantic provinces too.
If there's anything I can do to lend you a hand let me know. I don't have the engineering skills you do, but I'm not bad with the Photoshop etc.
Thanks Dave! I've just checked the new ones and they've completely changed the look of them - you probably knew that. I'm seeing a few on ebay but even the cheap ones need another $30 on top for shipping to Canada (and there doesn't seem to be any locally.) Gonna try a second hand store tomorrow and see if I fluke out.
I'm pretty sure there's an old one at my folks, but it might actually be worth something - probably pre-1970s.
I've already thanked you so I'll just shut up now!
Hey Dave! Just wanted to say "Thanks" for all you do around here! I'm always referring folks to your threads, and I just clicked and looked at your "started threads" and it's just an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord of ideas. And you do a great job of making it seem like they can be made by actual humans and not just the technical types.
Anyway, thanks again for your generosity. Gonna go see if I can find me a Ouija board.
thank you. Been spending way too much time on trying to find dead people... (working on genealogy. ) So fascinating... and time consuming. Love it, tho. Got to put that aside and get back in H'ween mode for a few months. Time's a' wastin'.
Three skeletons down... ten more to go! LOL I probably should have listened to you and went with thicker pvc. They are a little bit more wobbly with the thinner pipe, but are lighter which I think is better for hanging on the house. Still trying to work out a few kinks... but I'm getting a rhythm down to building them. Gonna hit it hard this weekend. I didn't paint them like you did and the pvc joints are catching my attention ~ I'm going to have to figure out how to make them disappear.
Thank you so much for the inspiration and your tutorial!
Hi Dave!! I've got thirteen skeletons sketched out. I'm starting on the first one today. Wish me luck! Ohhhh... this first one has two left legs in the bag. Do all the Blucky's have two left legs? ROFL
