  1. When do you set up halloween!

    General Halloween
We have a large walkthrough/maze. We started setting up on August 15th this year.
  2. Static: Pink or Blue Foam in Arizona

    Halloween Props
When I asked our local Home Depot, in Colorado Springs, if they could order a specific thickness of the pink foam that was on the Home Depot website, but not in the local store, I was told I'd have to order an entire pallet. I don't remember how many sheets were on a pallet, but it was many more...
  3. Other: Where to buy (cheap) paint?

    Halloween Props
Does your town/city have a Habitat for Humanity "ReStore"? Ours usually has gallons of paint for $12.

    General Halloween
I've tracked them at our local Costco stores for the last 3 years. I usually get positive confirmation, by mid-July, that they are on order and will be carried in the store. I'm not getting that same confirmation this year. I've used every SKU that I've seen for them, and customer service...
  6. Atmosphere Effects: Suggestions for low-cost multi-track audio in Yard Haunt; authoring and transmitting

    Halloween Props
That's a little more basic than the model I used, but it should work for you. If you plug a multi-port USB hub into your computer, and plug those into the hub, each one of them should be recognized, by Windows, as a separate audio device. The SoundMill software will also see them as separate...

You can plug an amplifier or powered, computer speakers into the headphone jack. Can you post a picture of what you got from New Egg? You may have got something that will work with the SoundMill software for multiple audio outputs from one computer.

Thanks for the kind words, GoS! We used it in our haunt in 2014. Our haunt video is on the same YouTube channel if you are interested. We bought another one of those spiders, used, at Midwest Haunter's Convention, and will need to figure out a way to use this year.

The ones I have are static, although they are supposed to have light up eyes. I used one of them to make an attacking spider prop like FrighProps offers:

That does look like the spider from Fright Props. $40 is a HECK of a low price though. The Fright Props one is $130 or so. I have two of them that I bought used from two different places. It will suck a little bit to not have something unique, if everybody can now get them for $40 from Costco...

I agree: not looking good. Last year, the customer service person could tell me several weeks in advance that they had X number of skeletons on order, and an approximate date of arrival when provided a SKU number. I visited our local Costco last night, with last years SKU number, and there...

Checked the skeleton SKU with the Northern Colorado Springs store. None yet on order, according the customer service rep who patiently explained to me how far away Halloween still was. :)

Does anyone remember the SKU code for the skeletons? You can ask customer service and get an exact count and date of delivery.
  14. Wow! My other interest just collided with this obsession!!

    General Halloween
Ha ha! Gooheads. I didn't know that was a thing. Now I do. Thanks!
  15. Static: painting order suggestion??

    Halloween Props
This would be how I'd paint them: Spray paint the entire column black. When dry, use a dark gray paint to dry brush the "bricks". When that's dry, use a third, light gray paint to dry bush highlights on top of the previous layer. For aging/detailing, spray very watered down black, brown, and...
