I love the movement - the jaw and the head turning is really great! I didn't notice the actual coffin creeping open until a second view tho! :D Great looking setup - would love to see it with your other skelly like you're planning and all lit up.

VIDEO: This a project I actually completed for Halloween 2017, but have been lax in finding the time to take some decent pics and shoot a video of it in action. I always loved the Grave-Digging Skeleton, but always wondered if I could re-engineer it in a new way and with a different motor. I figured that since the arms of the skeleton are already attached to the handle of the shovel, why not figure out some way to actually make the arms move the shovel back...

If you are wanting to float the candelabra like an FCG, it will work, just I would recommend using a very slow motor (3 or 4 RPM) for a subtle floating movement. And the crank for your motor will be very short, since the candelabra is not that wide. I would just experiment by mounting your motor and pulleys on the bottom of a flat board. Then try a short crank length and use that as a reference to judge what changes you need from there. In my mind, your idea would look pretty cool. Kind of...

That is really disappointing to hear. They had the ability to reach out to you and make things right ,and instead they remove the post completely. Have you contacted them directly over the issue with the mask and also asked about why your review on their site was removed? I would be interested to see what they say for both inquiries. I am going to move this thread into our "reviews" section, but I do hope others post if they have experience with this company - good or bad - is always...

Almost time to start the 2019 thread! Still debating on what to add for this year!!! Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking I need to move the Arkham Asylum over so I'd need some kind of Gotham themed facade to fill in that space. Also I'd like a big animated prop for the Gotham Garage.

So it's that time of year where I get into the swing of things with Halloween projects and I always like some inspiration in the form of YouTube videos! One channel I really like is Hollywood Haunter, but I definitely would like a new one to watch if anyone knows of some!

Come on Dad...every good costume NEEDS a paintball grenade launcher or you won't fit in wit the cool kids. Without it you might as well just throw a white sheet over your head and pretend to be a ghost. BTW - it's amazing even without the grenade launcher.

I've built many versions of an Animated Ouija board over the last ten years or so and they are not really that hard to build. Here's a link to a tutorial I made many years ago on how to build one. I used to sell these boards on E-bay, so I'm guessing between all those I sold and the ones I made for friends I have probably built 50 to 60 of them. Still have a few...

He's talking about these: I used one for a prop once, but I manually triggered it off and on with a remote control. Not the easiest way to do it, I'm sure.

The cotton candy room could be a "squeeze room" - get batting (used to make quilts) from a fabric store, make a basic shape (I'd suggest using a oval/egg shape out of cardboard and then skin them with the batting) add pool noodles for the handles, spraypaint pink, then hang up from the ceiling. Could even embed a few skulls or even a spare skelly arm hanging out. Would look like cotton candy coocoons similar to Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Best to stagger them down a narrow corridor... ...

I've been to the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, NC a few times. A lot of fun, but I've been out of town the last couple of times it came. I saw the advertisement for this years, and it looked like they've REALLY cut down on the number of celebrities attending. Kind of a shame. But, have a good time if you go!

The video looks terrific! You're right, the random movement is a lot creepier than a constant motion would be. I like it !

I'm so glad you liked it...hunted around and looked at your past pics, posts and your likes/dislikes and decided to go with a large, 360 degree stone for you to add to your cemetery. I'm really into stones and styles between the 1700s and early 1900's, so incorporated a couple of styles onto your stone. Added the PVC mounting inserts like I use here in the Northwest in case you deal with high winds, just pound a couple of pieces of thin rebar into the ground and slide the stone over the exposed rebar and its anchored! Shipping was interesting and I had to have the shipping folks build a box for it so I didn't get to decorate the box like I normally would, but I am happy that it arrived in good condition!

If I get you for my reapee I have some great stuff for the witch and autopsy room. I have also been collecting some foam packaging at work for osenator and IC_Dedpeople which would be terrific rock facade panels but it would cost a ton to ship them to you. They are made from expanding foam and will look like cave walls when painted. They are 4-8 inches thick, 4 feet wide and a little over 8 feet high.
I look forward to seeing the witches room in particular. I know you have one of the best cauldrons around!!!

I'm not adding a lot more this year. I've finished a breathing grave, I'm half done a cauldron creep, I've got one more animated zombie 3/4 done, and I'd like to make one or two fog chillers and a "head turning only" demon outside the garage . The demon probably won't get done and there's a good chance I'll use that motor for my reapee.
Have fun with the garage scene, do you have a specific plan for it? Is it the autopsy room? How's the plan coming along? Enjoy!!!!

I saw you signed up for the secret reaper again. Maybe I will be lucky enough to have Bethene match us up again. I hope everything is going well with the new house. Does it set up well for your display?

My halloween this year!!

by 13mummy on 09-11-2007 at 07:13 PM
Well thanks to all you guys my creative juices are running ramped. I have always just focused on the inside of my house, and had a decient yard. But now I'm trying to make as many props for the outside that I can for this year. Time constraints include the fact that I have a 5 month old baby boy who takes up most of my time. But sometimes my husband, and family members will help with taking care of him while I venture out to the garage.

I've been givin so many great ideas by you
