Psychopaths on Shudder. I liked it! Story was a little weird (I went back and re-read the summary to make sure I understood what was going on) but I liked the gore and the characters. Kinda reminded me of my college days watching a bunch of non-blockbuster horror movies. Would watch again!

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2 (1987) wasn't terribly scary, but it was a lot of fun if you like `em cheesy and sleazy.

Trailer here.

What was the last HORROR movie you watched?
We watched one earlier called The Houses October Built (2014). Wasn't half bad. This tight-knit group of friends decide to go on a week-long road-trip, hitting haunted attractions, seeking the scariest of them all. Early on, they piss off some of the workers at one, and then later they see those same 'characters', even though they've traveled a hundred miles away. They anger even more haunters later, and it becomes apparent pretty quickly that these attraction makers have a sort of network and they've been keeping track of the crew as they make their way from haunt to haunt. Despite every warning imaginable, they travel on anyway, with the expected tragic results. It's pretty cool how the filmmakers used at least seven actual haunts for their shooting locations. The person I watched it with came up with what would have been a better ending, but I won't spoil things any more than I already have for you.

I'm not sure anything is scary anymore. Except the news <shudder>.

There was a part two to this movie in Redbox last year. I'm not sure if it's still available, but it explains the ending for the first.

Not a movie, but I watched the first episode of Chernobyl (on HBO) last night. Monsters/ghosts/demons/anything you usually see in horror doesn't typically scare me anymore, but real events do. I've only seen the first episode, but holy crap is it terrifying! It's sooooo well done and everything looks amazing. And just knowing that this really happened because a few people were idiots/scared of repercussion is amazing to me. I'll definitely keep watching -- this is honestly some of the best TV horror I've seen in a while.

The latest iteration of Halloween. I was surprised by it, I really enjoyed seeing all those women kick a$$.

Thumbs up

I watched Haunter (2013) with Abigail Breslin last night. I sat down to it cold (as in I had absolutely no idea what it was about) and overall enjoyed. Some nice spooky moments throughout, and an interesting twist on the standard ghost story.

I watched it last night and I also enjoyed it. I liked all the nods to the original and like you said, it was great watching the women kick a$$. I like the hint at a sequel at the very end...the bloody knife... 😉
