    Default Pet Sematary - 2019

Not sure when the remake will be released, but I AM sure the fam will be taking it in...
John Lithgow reprises the role played by Fred Gynne. That is , in my view, Kings scariest novel.

I agree that its King's scariest novel (that I've read anyway).

I have a pretty big attachment to the old one so this one has a lot to try and not screw up for me. I was put off by the first trailer with the kids in animal masks. It just feels like the cool thing to do the past few years is put people in animal masks (The Purge, You're Next... etc).

I stopped watching the second trailer part of the way through because it felt like it was spoiling too much. I saw a pretty big change they made that was not in the book or movie and I didn't want every single surprise to be spoiled for me.

My husband and I will definitely go see it but my expectations range from none at all to a little offended and annoyed that its happening. What I really want to happen is just to do an adaptation that is scarier and more serious than the first movie with more focus on the power of the graveyard and the influence it has over the people and events around it.

    Ugh, we'll see.

Yeah, I'm excited to see this, but I don't want to have any expectations for anything. I feel if I get too excited for the movie, that in the end it will let me down. It's better to go to a horror movie not expecting anything, watching the trailer or checking for updates. Just go see it and see what happens. I'm not planning on watching the trailers anymore due to disappointments in the past with horror movies. So I guess, we will see how it pans out in the end.

Most of the stuff Hollywood puts out nowadays is, imho, rubbish so as far as modern remakes go I always convince myself that it is going to be the absolutely worst thing I have ever seen. That way I am never disappointed because even the lousiest, most boring, bit of pretentious crapola, or overhyped tripe is halfway watchable. Alcohol also helps.

As a side note, apparently a remake of The Bride of Frankenstein with Javier Bardem as The Monster and Angelina Jolie as The Bride almost happened, but now appears to be pretty much doa thanks to Tom Cruises, The Mummy tanking. https://deadline.com/2017/10/bride-o...ie-1202182510/
