Just a reminder from all that I've read and watched over paper mache projects being made online. Cover up all of your aluminum foil with masking tape before you try to put any kind of mache on it. The experts all say that mache doesn't stick to foil. It would be a shame to put that much work into a project only to watch parts fall way from the foil because the mache didn't adhere. But for now, your work is outstanding, and by the time it's done, I think you'll be able to put your nightmare with...

Calling out to all pumpkin growers who start their seeds under lights before spring has sprung. This year is the second year for our two fluorescent fixtures, and per what the grow lights say, they're nearing the end of their useful light production. Which means it's time to pony up some cash for new bulbs or consider other options. One that we've seen on sale of late are the LED shop lights with blue and red LEDs that are supposed to mimic the light plants need for optimum growth. They are...

While I'm not sure it will solve your dilemma, it might be that you need to step away from flood lights and actually buy yourself a spot light. The narrower focus of a spotlight will cast a darker shadow, and if your T-Rex is as far away from your house as it seems, that extra focus of the light will still spread out so that you get less of a spot light look. We use spotlights everywhere we want to cast a shadow, and use the LED floodlights for broader swaths of color in the graveyard. However,...

I'm sketching out ideas for our Dino Park in the Dark event which starts in June. I'm thinking to make fencing using 3 8' 2x4 per post. I'm planning to make an "I" beam by turning the middle one sideways, sandwhiching it between the other two and screwing them together. I'm going to stand them up hammering those green stakes Lowes sells in the ground and screwing them to each one, easy up/easy down. I'll paint them grey, drill holes and insert painted grey rope from the wire. Solar lights...

I'm finally going to do a party this year. I've always wanted to, but never had the nerve. I'm a huge comic book fan, especially Batman. I'm thinking of decorating the house like Arkham Asylum. Once I had the theme I just had a flood of ideas!! I'm really excited!!!!!

Since it's featuring nighttime displays, I'd suggest a small, portable, box, anchored into the ground. The street side has a "Return tonight to see this year's winner," while the side facing the house projects a simple "This year's #1 HOA Winner!" powered by a 12vdc car battery and, if needed, a power converter. Basic, simple, elegant, and understated. 🙂 Reusable, portable, cheap.

I have THREE Spirit animatronics with broken gears. I did get a little help from them a few years back in that they tried to find replacement gears from some returned units. I was so excited when I got them in the mail only to find out they weren't the right gears. These things are too expensive to have them break so easily...I only used them one Halloween before they broke. I wrote sometime back on this forum it would be good if anyone has units they're just going to get rid of to offer...

I just received a set of those from Servo City to see if that would help. It seemed like it worked when the head is moving but when there is no info the head maxes out to one side. Still trying to figure that one out. Thanks for the info.

Just hit Walmart & the only Easter candy that was there & on sale was the actual Easter stuff, chocolate bunnies, chocolate eggs, etc. Nothing that could be used for Halloween. They probably tossed all that in the dumpster out back.

So ... I have got the basic gist of the party ... Dinner on a pirate ship with pirates and sea witches ... shenanigans will follow ... so I think I will start at the beginning and think about my "Save the Dates". I bought a bunch of little treasure chests and will put a gold coin in it with the date on one side and skull and cross bones on the other ... The actually invite will be One Eyed Willies Map from the goonies the look of it ... but of course will make it into an invite in the...

I built this Clown Entrance for a Halloween party last year. It turned out fantastic. The eyes rotate, using cheap motors I picked up from Princess Auto. I projected the image and air brushed onto plywood. I didn't build it to be self standing (but you could)....for our purpose it was attached to the house entrance way (for our party)...and for Halloween night with the kids, it became the entrance way to our garage based Crazy Carnival theme. The parts can be disassembled for transport. ...

Well finally got a chance to try out my 30W LED flood light casting a shadow against our 2-story house with my 3ft T-Rex prop as the shadow source. Not bright enough to do the effect I want. Nice light for using close up on gravestones etc. though. Well back to the ebay well :D! Glad I'm doing this experimentation early for a change.

Gotta go to Walmart tomorrow, I should check this out! I had no idea Peeps had such a long shelf life until I bought some Halloween ones a couple years ago. I just tossed them into the craft room somewhere with some vague plan to do something crafty with them but never did. I found them about a year later & thought they'd be super expired but they weren't so I just tossed them in a corner again so they're still somewhere in my craft room expiring sloooooowly!!:D

Everything is looking good. Plants about ready to fall over and start vining. Pics are posted below of where I am at right now. I added a section of silt fence at each opening to keep the wind from harming the plants. We had some pretty strong wind over the weekend. The lows temps are between 50 and 60 at night. We are real close to seeing no more 50s at night. The downside is that the days are getting close to 85 and with two fans running, I am still having a hard time keeping the temps...

You have to have a Chocolate room... maybe making Chocolate dipped fingers and other delicacies? How about a Cotton Candy machine room...big machine with a corpse positioned in the middle spinning around and cotton candy (spider webbing) being spun around it.

I feel like comparing all the actors that played vampires is like comparing apples and oranges... but if I did had to choose, I'd pick Max Schreck. He's just too creepy!!! (and exactly how vampires should be, in my humble opinion :D )
