    Hi,
I'm looking to buy a real casket. Any color, style. I just want one. This is going to be used as our candy station for our yard haunt.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

Why don't you just make one? It is so easy if you can make the time to do it. If you want a life size coffin or small it doesn't matter you do the same thing either way.

We made ours life size. You first cut out a bottom (a few pieces of scrapwood or plywood). This will determine your coffins shape. Then, nail in "supports" in each corner. These will be perpendicular to the bottom. Your framework is done.

Get used scrapwood or pallets (FREE) from a local store and tear the pieces apart for your coffin. Cut the wood to fit the ends and sides. Nail or screw in each piece of wood to the supports to create the ends and sides. I do mine about 3 slats high. After the sides are done you do the top the same way only the slats lay across the top of the coffin attached by slats laying across the inside or top (make sure to cut slats same shape as coffin). We make the coffin top where it can open in the almost middle. Make sure you make the top wide enogh. You don't want the coffin lid to fall in. It also looks good to add rope to the out side of the coffin that look like handles. Just drill 2 holes about 6 inches or so apart and tie rope about the diameter of your little finger to where it loops on the outside and knots on the inside. Neatness is not necessary. It will turn out great!

Make sure you connect the coffin lid with hinges. Be aware though of kids that try to get into the coffin that could squish their fingers, you may want to use a saftey or spring type hinge. If you didn't want the lid to open too much, you could attach a rope or other type on the inside of the coffin.

Sorry to be so long about this, but you could also add a faux bottom where if the coffin is set right a hand or something can pop out of the bottom and through the candy. This can be done by using a black bottom with a "soft" spot where a slit is cut in fabric and can just "pop out". FuN!
