There's a decoration from my youth that I've been scouring everywhere for, and Internet searches have also come up empty. I can't even find a good picture of it online...sometimes I think I've imagined it all this time.

Since I have no pictures, I'll have to describe it. The decoration is a cardboard cutout of a green skull; the skull is grinning wickedly and there are red dots inside of its dark sockets. It was actually pretty creepy looking. I can remember stores selling it back in the late eighties and early nineties. The one I had when I was younger was accidentally thrown away in 1996, and I haven't been able to find another one since.

Any information on where to buy it (or even just a good picture of it) would be much appreciated.

Thanks for finding that, though. If I can't come across the one I'm looking for, I may try to pick that one up as a substitute.

The green skull cutout I'm looking for has a "face" similar to that. I hope someone can help me find this gem from my childhood. I've been searching the 'net and haunting garage sales for 14 years in my quest for it. Man, I could kick my dad for pitching my original back in '96...

After obsessively hunting through eBay for months, I managed to come away with genuine pictures of the green skull! Sadly, I didn't bid on the one I've been searching many years for, as its condition was described as being rather poor. I also discovered there are two different versions of the green skull. Here is the right one:

Below is a picture of the "variant", which is the one I don't want. Since my memories of having this decoration as a youth have been vague, I was actually fooled into thinking this version was the real deal and bought it on eBay. Then the other auction went up and I realized my mistake after I did a picture-by-picture comparison. D'oh.

If anyone has the cutout as depicted in the top picture and is willing to part with it, please let me know...as long as it's still in good condition. I don't mind old Scotch tape being on it (as that can be easily removed) or other minor wear, but I won't want it if it has too many tape rips or creases. If you're serious about selling it, you can also post pics.

Now that I've finally uploaded pics of the genuine article, I hope they can jog someone's memory of this nearly forgotten Halloween relic. Thanks in advance!

DTD we were just discussing cut outs in the "I Love A Good Yard Sale Thread" Deadna actually has your skull you are seeking. Most likely its not for sale but there is a picture of it there as well and she could tell you brand name to help locate it.

Deadna, before I saw your post I bid on (and won) an auction on eBay. The auction included a few green skulls that were all still new. Talk about lucking out!!!!

Thank you for making the offer Deadna. I really appreciate it. I also appreciate anyone who put in the effort of searching. Once those skulls come in the mail, they're getting laminated and hung all around my place! Green skull takeover!

It's so nice to have recaptured a bit of my Halloween youth. Once again, thanks to those who wanted to help.

Congrats! I noticed they are a matching set to go with the larger one and the jointed one I have so I thought about putting them up all over as well. Love the old stuff!
