this item has been discontinued for 3-4 years now. The two places you might be able to find one is either Ebay or Craigslist. I don't know of an online store that still has any in-stock. Best of Luck hunting him down!

I haven't seen any Dr. Shivers listed anywhere lately. You might ask again later or check stores closer to Halloween also if you don't get any leads before then. BuyCostumes was selling him last year also and some stores might still have some in inventory somewhere and pull them out closer to then. Price keeps coming down and that might have been enough to sell out of them though.

BTW when you do your search also try searching for something like "mad scientist" which is what BuyCostumes had listed him under even though he's Dr. Shivers.

Saw this new in the box Dr. Shivers over on Ebay under their BuyItNow program. Appears to be sold by one of those inflatable stores. Don't know if there were several versions of Dr. Shivers but this one has a microphone. Pricey, and maybe the original retail price, but considering the item is discontinued and rather hard to find and new in the box, maybe not a bad deal although looks like the same one sold at BuyCostumes for $200 less. I'd love a Dr. Shivers of my own and if I had the money would have probably bought this guy myself instead of posting about it.
BTW I am unfamiliar with this seller but seems to have very good feedback.

There's an excellent chance this brick and mortar store still has some for $200. Worth a call. Don't know whether they ship.
This brick and mortar party store is owned and operated by a Halloween fanatic who at one time had some awesome closeouts I bitterly regret not purchasing. He seems to be the kind of guy who buys overstocks and clearances from manufacturers, so it's possible there'd be one in his store. Again, I don't know whether they ship but in this economy.....

I bought a number of Gemmy Spirit balls (the white haired guy) last year from Ross Dress for Less when they were selling them at Halloween time. It also came with a mic and they were sold for $20 each. This is the same head as Dr. Shivers and when I couldn't find the real doctor I figured I'd work on building one myself. The costume is pretty easy to come close to. It is a bit of work to modify the head to get your own recording (there's a great tutorial on the forum to do so by OpenTrackRacer) and it's not like you can go out and buy the spirit ball white haired guy off the shelf anymore either. So basically still a bunch of time and money to end up with your own version. For those that have the talent and skill to do this, it's great and a wonderful sense of accomplishment but for those that this is too much to tackle (including hunting down what they need), sometimes paying the retail price is far easier and worth it. I think Dr. Shivers is a great prop. My husband was helping with the sodering end of my modification and he was complaining the whole time about how much money his time was worth. As you might guess he is not at all into Halloween. Believe me by the end of the project I wish I could have just bought the guy read to use out of the box!!

I bought mine for 99 dollars, this is usually the sale price every year. I also bought one with no head at Big Lots for 7 dollars.
