As I posted earlier, salvage yards will be cheaper and have a larger supply on hand. The Saturn motor is just what monsterguts sell. You can use almost any wiper motor you can get.

ya i just called one and they said 31 bucks...even with the core charge of 5 bucks since I wont have an old one to give back.

so 31 bucks is still cheaper than 48 off amazon. !

If ya goes to a Pick-a-Part, or Pull-a-Part, or any Auto Recycler-type establishments, they run ya 'bout $15/ea.. If ya 'as them pull th' part, will mos' likely be $25.. $48 fer a motor is roight out thar in "Fleese Me Please" land, savvy? Do naught spend more than $30(tax included), lest ya be Bill Gates or Paul Allen..

As ta a specific year, model, tell them tha' it be fer a Halloween prop, year an' model is unimportant, .. th' older th' better as newer models be computer controlled... olders motor, say from a '75 Chevy Impala, or Nova, be jus' a straigh', guts-only motor. Seems tho, tha' Terry's Saturn motor recommendation be worthy..

stopped at th' Pick-A-Part 'ere in town, where it's 'alf-Price Thursday, 'paid a $3 entry fee, removed 2 wiper motors from Mercury (Ford) cars in less than 20 minutes, pulled out me bag o' gold dabloons, paid $28.xx fer two motors, so ya see, they can be 'ad fer cheap.. Most o' these Pull-APart/Pick-A-Part places, ya 'as ta bring yer own tools an' unbolt parts, bu' ta save at least $10, be -more- than worth it, savvy??

We built our first animated prop this year. We were surprised that salvage yards want more $$ than Monster Guts did. In fact, most were at least double the price! One place from online wanted $100.00 for just one!! I will be doing some searching after the season to prepare for next season!

Yeah, I'll be ordering from Monster Guts after the holiday. It's not that they're out - it's that they're too busy fulfilling orders for the 31st. I always get started too late.
