Two years ago I made one of the animated Reindeer/wolves using a standing animated deer frame. I'm considering making a second wolf for next year, but with Xmas mdse hitting the shelves already have yet to see any of the animated deers like I bought before. Closest I've come is a 3-deer animated set from Big Lots ($30) but the size of these guys is small. Seems like the xmas deer aren't wire frame anymore. Is this a national trend? Any suggestions other than yard sales and resale shops (which i've yet to see one in) to find one. I'd rather not pay shipping and would love to pick up in a store locally. Thanks.

I know Garden Ridge had a shipload of wire frame deer last year. I bought one and it's still in the box. They probably have them out now, I just haven't been in there lately.

Thought I would update this post to let any one interested in building an animated Reindeer/Wolf for their haunt know that BIG LOTS! has an ad for this coming week, 11/6/11 - 11/12/11, that has the larger lit animated wire reindeer on sale:
Lighted Deer, standing or grazing, 150 clear lights, 2/$30 or $20 Ea.
I get an advanced email heads up on their ads and believe the generally post them to their website later tonight or on Saturday. So far haven't seen anyone else list these larger animated guys.
I might decide to build a two-headed sheep instead.

I saw a larger Buck animated deer at walmart a couple nights ago. Dont know exactly what you were looking for but he seemed to be twice the size of the largest one in the family of deer
