Anyone know where I could get a large cauldron (plastic is fine). I's like one about 3' in diameter to hang from a tripod in front of my witch hut. I'm trying to avoid making one but may have to. I can't find anything that big. Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

The largest plastic cauldrons I've seen have been at places like Party City, but I'm thinking you may be wanting something larger. When I made my stirring witch prop, I used a food grade 55 gallon plastic drum and cut it down to the desired size. You can then decorate it to make it look like a real old cauldron. Here's a link to the scare f/x witch project that outlines the cauldron construction. You can get these drums from a number of places. I got mine from a grape juice plant in a neighboring town for 7 bucks!

About 3 years ago, I found a whole bunch of black plastic cauldrons at TARGET. They were $5.99 to 16.99, and I got the largest one for $16.99. I grabbed it quick because I have never seen a large one like that hang about on a shelf too long. Good luck and check walmart too.

Saw some at Halloween City yesterday. Don't know if there's one in your area.

One of the Tuesday Morning stores here had a large metal one (fairly lightweight, though). It was probably 30" in diameter and something around 24" high, dark gray in color, and had the ring handles on either side. I think it was $30....had it been cheap enough it would have been mine!

Party City is the place to go. Their website sucks, but if you go to the store they have a black and a "bronze painted" cauldron that are both pretty big. I bought one last year and it's 20" wide and 15" high. That may not sound big, but you can sit a blucky in it, or a wiper motor and battery for a stirring stick.

Check the CraigsList in your area. I saw two on there yesterday in my area. I didn't look at the sizes, but this is the time of year people start posting cause the know things will move.
Love your cauldron jdubbya
