I'm impatient. How can I set up a voting questionare on this forum to ask people if I should:
A. Buy the 1941 Chrysler Windsor Sedan (even though it's not a hearse)
B. Call up the seller of the 1947 Cadillac hearse and see if I can talk him down to $1,000.
C. Just be patient and wait for the right car, in the right condition, at the right price.

Um, building a half dozen giant spiders and cocooning the front porch isn't "something to do?" Sheesh. Oh, and I vote #3!!

HA! The selection was A, B, or C. There was no option #3.
How about this? I trade the VTX that's frustrating the heck out of me to the guy on Whidbey island for his 1941 Chrysler Windsor, AND see if I can talk the 1947 hearse down to around $1,000. That way, we both get what we want, and I've already gotten rid of one of the motorcycles!
BTW, nice subtle plug for your blog, honey.

I found the 1952 Cadillac hearse again! It's still for sale down in Stockton, CA. (south of Sacramento) They're asking $4,200, but it runs!! My wife doesn't like it because she says it looks more like an ambulance than a hearse. She thinks a hearse should have the solid back panels with the chrome swoop. Not clear windows.

I swear, there is no pleasing her!!

TK, I feel your pain! Wifey and I are just coming to the end of a major house remodel. Rooms finished 5, Props finished 0. $$ spent on remodel $42,000 and climbing. $$ spent on Halloween $15 ......and although that Caddy looks like a sweet ride I think I would have to side with Mrs. 421 on this one.
Undead and loving it!

Say it ain't so, WalkingCorpse!
While I agree that the remodel should come first, my wife and I also agreed a long time ago that the motorcycles are mine. If I want to sell them and take on something else, that would be okay.
Just so long as I'm not spending budgeted money.
Still, I'm just excited by the prospect right now. I'm getting the bikes fixed up and as soon as they sell, there will be a big hole in the garage that I may just feel a desperate need to fill.

"IF"? –

IF you happen to be in the right place at the right time.... I was given a complete hearse, a 57 Caddy. I was given as much of a hearse that I wanted to take with me that day(a 67 Caddy)
But you must be ready, willing and able to pay for towing, trailering, or have the mechanical means to do it yourself availble. It is just like WORK, you know.
Having my haunted house open every night of the year probably helped me come into contact with those people looking to rid themselves of hearses.
The one guy had 5 of them and the girlfriend said "They GO Now!"
Just the last few feet of the 67 must weigh in at 500 pounds!? IF I was alone that day it would not have gotten into the back of the truck to come here! Be Warned! HEAVY!!!"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Heavy, gotcha. TK, you have been warned, hearses are heavy! Which means they would probably get stuck in the squishy park entrance you were thinking of driving them through to get to the side of the house.
