I got 9 (!!!) practice amps on Ebay for about $90 including shipping - which I think is a smokin' deal.

Anyway, I figure if I set it up right, I will need 5 MP3 players to run different soundtracks to each one. The BEST I could probably do is find those for $20 each, but I'd rather not spend another $100 on those. Isn't there some place to buy small, cheap MP3 players? I mean, for a haunt soundtrack, I only need 5-10 minutes on a loop TOPS. A 256MB player would be plenty for me if I could find a source.

I know lots of prop controllers have built in MP3 players, but I'm not ready for that yet. i just want to program and play a continuous soundtrack in each scene. Any idea where I can get the players I am looking for?

I have a few of these:

    Creative Nomad Muvo.
128MB, loops, very small, easy to load, runs on AAA battery for hours.

I think mine was cheaper than this one, but shop around. (I think I paid $15 shipped for the last one).

Thanks Wackychimp. I will look at it. It's crazy that i can get 4GB for about the same price as 128MB, isn't it?

I have tried them, and I liked them! They are first act practice amps. I took one to a musician friend of mine and he was very impressed with the sound we could get out of them. Remember, these are meant for practicing guitar or making video games louder, not for concerts. If you play with the gain and tone a bit, you can get surprisingly clear sound that is definitely loud enough for my scenes.

If you search for first act practice amps on YouTube, you will find a video of a guy trying one out. That's what convinced me to give them a try.

BTW - there is a make and take at my place in Mesa this Sunday. I hope you will go to AZhaunters.ning.com for details. We'd love to see you there! Or just PM me and I'll send you the details.
