The Hubby and I are doing a psycho scarecrow farm theme this year we are looking for realistic looking crows. Not the one from Michaels, we have some of those. We don't mind if it's taxidermy just as long as it is not expensive. So if anyone knows of a good site or knows someone that makes them? I could use the help. Thanks bunches and stay scary!

more realistic than the Michaels' crows = expensive
Taxidermy examples are VERY expensive. I've been searching for skeletal models and they are $50 and up for small animals. With feathers, eyes and other details, expect much higher prices.
I've been checking etsy and ebay and other locations, and that's been my experience so far.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

I recommend searching for hunting decoys. I don't know what your price range is, but something like this one from Cabela's might work for your purposes. As I recall, the "aggressive caller" version that's out of stock was particularly nice. This more expensive one comes with a 60 second continuous sound loop.
You might check with some of the Canadian posters. Last year there was a nice-looking crow being sold at some kind of dollar store in that country that never made it to the U.S.

Does anyone know of a good how-to for realistic static crows?

Dollar stores have tons of them right before halloween. They are kinda small though, but I use them.

My "aggressive caller" crow from Greenhead Gear just arrived; the Cawlin one is on backorder but should be here soon.
This Greenhead Gear crow is HUGE!!! I had no idea it would be this big. I personally think that it's wonderful that it will pretty much dwarf anything else on the market. Others may not feel the same based on the composition of other members of their flock. If anyone would like me to measure this ginormous beastie for comparison let me know.
