First I took a garbage bag and filled it with shredded paper. Stuck a broom stick thru it and secured it in a Christmas tree stand. Next I took yarn and tied it vertical to make pumpkin bumps. Then comes the paper mache. I only did 5 layers, but it's really strong. I used flour and water...3 heaping cups of flour to 3 cups of water, it should be the consistency of pancake batter. Newspaper strips 2inches wide by 10 inches long. Layer the garbage bag vertically from top to bottom.Leave hole in top for the stalkand bottom so you can get a light in the bottom. Allow every layer to dry COMPLETELY. I'm lucky to have a wood burning stove, it pulls any kind of moisture out of anything in front of it. Once the paper mache was done and dry, I cut out the eyes and mouth. The I bought a bag of Claycrete, this stuff is awesome, it's paper mache clay. I made the veins (vines) and details on the face out of this. Let that dry completely. The stalk/vine on the head is rolled up paper towels then covered with duct tape, with a toilet paper roll at the end that attaches to the top of the head. Attach with duct tape and then paper mache over it. 2 coats of paper mache on the stalk after it's attached to the head. I used acrylic paints for KILLER using lighter colors on the top of the ridges and teeth. Sealed it with spray polyurethane 3 coats and he's now alive. The body is grape vines and I used my old high school graduation gown for the cloths. Just dyed it black. The light i used is a battery operated jack-o-lantern light(wal-mart). I like how he looks in the yard. For my first time doing and evil pumpkin I think he came out GREAT. Happy Haunting!!!! NJVIXEN![]()

I don't have a pic with the light on...sorry. I stood him up by tying him to the garden fence. His head is just a stick from his "neck" put into the hole in the bottom of his head.

Good job. Very creative. I love that you used a Christmas tree stand as the base. I wouldn't have thought of that.

Nice, like it and the size is perfect for the way you have it displayed.
