This left me about 1 foot of stake untouched so that I would be able to pound the stake into the ground. When I stapled these lights in place, they were laying wherever they wanted, but I wanted them to stand “straight out.” Therefore, I placed a large dollop of hot melt glue under the base of each light and pressed the base of the light into the glue until it “set.” This took about 2 minutes for each of the 7 lights.
With the lights in place, I still had extra lights on the set to deal with. I wanted to connect the signs together to make my pathway. If you use the 50 light sets and depending on how far apart you set your signs, you’ll need an extension cord or an extra set of lights. But, if you use the 100 light sets, you are able to place your signs about 12 feet apart without extra light sets. In my case, I made 60 signs and I plan to place them 12 feet apart, I will have a 720 foot pathway!
In most cases you can connect up to 6 sets/signs together with one extension cord. But if you use LED light sets, you can connect several more sets with one extension cord.
Arrange the signs the way you want them displayed. I’m setting mine up like those Burma Shave signs. If you’re old, you’ll remember these signs. When the TOTs reach a particular prop, the corresponding sign will be at the prop. An example of this would be my electric chair sign. This sign will be placed at my electric chair. Understand?
To make the path, I take the extra lights on the signs and suspend them approximately 6” off the ground to the next sign. You can use anything you’d like to suspend the lights, but in my case, I’m using “all in one light stakes” that I purchased at Wal-Mart on closeout for 50 cents for a box of 25 stakes. About 2 cents per stake.
So, at this point, not only will the signs flash, the pathway will light up and flash. Note: these do not flash in unison, each light set flashes when it wants.
You can carve anything you want into these signs. I even went so far as to make a sign with vampire teeth.
Here are the words that I used (in alphabetical order and not the order they will be placed in the pathway).

You can use any color light sets that you want. I used orange, purple, blue, red, green, pink and clear. I did not use the multi-colored sets because I thought it would look too much like Christmas.
The best I can figure is I have about $3 to $4 into each sign.
You don’t have to mount these on stakes. You can figure out how to hang them such as a MORGUE sign and hang it?
If you have any questions, just ask. If you want to use my designs, let me know and I’ll set up something in my photo album?
Good luck

Pictures of them set up??? No. At this time there is 2 feet of SNOW on the ground. As soon as the snow is gone, I'll set them all up for photos/video. But, if there is a particular one you want to see, I can take a photo.

I have a picture in my head of what the finished priduct looks like. I'd like to see how close I am to the real thing. You don't have a finished one in the house, or one in progress?
