The bobbing action of the ghosts really is cute...in addition to how they "fly" around the poles...love it.

In case anyone else has been trolling the dollar stores/Target/Walmart/etc. for plates, The local Big Lots in the San Francisco Bay Area are carrying 13" gold charger plates, 4 for $6. They're plastic but don't appears to be melamine. Definitely look like they would work, though.

That's great. I found out from another haunter crab pot line might work really well for the main line. I'm going to try it as the last line I used broke on Halloween night.

Sorry I haven't updated this since last Halloween, but the Axworthy using the crab pot line worked like a charm. Not once all night and the next day did line jump track.
Here is a video of the Axworthy running the next day.

P.S. The line I used can handle up to 250 pounds so no worries about the line snapping.

This year's upgraded AFG was a huge success. The design I used was a combination of the design that Dave of Raven Manor developed, plus the use of the melamine plates we've discussed in this thread to create the pulleys. NOT ONE LINE JUMP ALL NIGHT! (hooray!).

Thanks for your inspiration on the plates, Aquayne/dionicia.
One sidebar...I looked for crab pot line...it is NOT the same thing as materials for trot lines...I purchased Mariner Tarred Twisted line(165# test), and it stretched like crazy. I went back to my standby...SpiderWire Stealth. (It's also usually readily available at most big-box sporting good stores, which crab pot line apparently is not)Cryptkeeper - Screamyard Cemetery

The plate idea was actually from Aquayne. I'm glad yours worked. My motor stopped working just before we opened. I still have to find out why but I have a spare if I need to swap out for next year.
