Hi Everyone, I'm new here on halloweenforums.com but I'd like to share my simple easy attempt on projecting images into trees with a old used slide projector.
Items needed:
1. Old slide projector (got mine at a thrift store)
2. Clear plastic assitate (found at Blicks Art Supplies)
3. Black Acrillic paint
4. Fine detail brushes, like model brushes
5. paper and pencils
First I took the assitate and cut our squares the size of a normal slide. Unfortunately its hard to find clear projector slides anymore so I had to make do.
On paper I drew out small images I thought would look good projected at a grand scale and placed the assitate squares over them.
I traced in black paint the entire outside of the image leaving the core image clear so the light would shime through. Try not to make the images too complicated because it will get lost in translation when enlarged.
Yer done! just place the images Upside down if i'm not mistaken in the slide projector and shine it towards a large leaf filled tree and there you have it. Its quite stunning.

great idea. Love the skull projection on the tree. Looks like it's coming alive.

Wow that looks great. I just wish we had a tree with real leaves. Are you projecting from the roof?

one thing I forgot to mention, the use of black paint is a must. Trying marker or any other medium will cause light to show through and wash out the image
