Someone asked for a tut on this ring toss game. Sorry for not having any pics of the actual build. Its pretty self explanatory though.

The hands and feet were bought at the Dollar General. Of course, a buck a piece! Theyre pretty plain jane as they are, so I recommend adding some detail to them. The paint that was on there was already flaking off right of the package, so I hit the tops with red spray paint and allowed the excess to run down the sides, a pretty cool effect. Also heated up the soldering iron and dragged it slowly across the plastic. This created a great gashed effect. Painted the gash and dripped craft paint down it for a bleeding effect. Hard to see in the pic, but very effective. Also wrapped gauze aroung random portions and soaked them with craft paint. Cut off one of the fingers with a box knife and wrapped guaze around it and soaked it with craft paint. Now they look lot better!

Drilled 3/8 holes into the ends of the hands feet, alternating sides to mix it up a bit. Then took some 3/8 inch dowel rods had left over from last year. These can be found at Home Depot or Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Dab a gob of hot glue on the end of the dowel and shoved it into the predrilled hole all the way up inside to the end of the hand/foot. Once inside, then hot glued where the dowel is inserted into the hand/foot.

The board I used was an old 2x6 I had lying around. Cut three pieces, you can use more or less, about two-three feet in length. I didnt measure, just eyeballed it for a random look. Place the hands/feet roughly where you want them to mount on the board and drill a 3/8 inch hole through the board. A 2x6 is actually 1&1/2 inch thick, so now trim the dowel rod protruding from the ends of the hands/feet down to 1&1/2 inch. Slip the dowels into the holes and there you have standing hands and feet!

Now its time to gore up the boards. I used Great Stuff to make extra intestines/guts. Once dry, hit the guts with a liberal amount of craft paint. Also poured a liberal amount of the paint around the holes in the board. Hold the board at an angle to allow the paint to run down the sides of the board. Drip pain here and there and you now have a bloody mess that'll disturb plenty of folks!

The rings are made out of a heavy guage extension cord that met its end when my wife introduced it to an electric hedge trimmer! Useless as an electric cord, but great for Halloween prop use!. Cut a length about 1&1/2 foot, you can make your rings bigger or smaller depending on the legnth you use but just make sure it'll fit over the ends of the hands and feet. I cut a 2inch piece of coat hanger wire and inserted one end of the wire into one end of the extension cord. Use pliers for this, it'll help! Then insert the other end of the wire into the other end of the cord. Bend the wire into a more rounded shape with the pliers and you now have a ring. You need to wrap the joint very tightly with electricians tape. Wrap the joint several times to ensure it dosent come apart. Then wrap the tape all along the rest of the ring in a spiral fashion. This will give rigidity to the entire ring.

Well there you have a Ring Toss Game! We use these carnival styled, but Halloween themed games at our annual Halloween party and for ToTs. Make them work for their candy! (Not really....they get candy even if they dont win!) Im also planning on making a carnival styled sign saying "Ring Toss" to hang over the game. These types of games get lots of use as kids come back again and again to play them! I play them alot too! Theres even more pics of other games and this prop in my profile albums. Hope you all try this out, its easy, cheap, quick and fun to build! Contact me if you have any ???

This is so cool, Jack! I can totally see all of our guests playing this at our costume party. I hope I can squeeze this into everything else I'm making this year! Thanks for posting

This is terrific. We've done things like the "horror movie photo" game at our parties but we're always looking for something new. This will be great to put in the corner of the building where nobody hangs out. I bet it will bring out the kid in all of us!
