I got mine at The Home Depot.
I also got the 10mm, I'm using them to make mini spotlights. So far I am happy with the effect. I'm also using a 12VDC wall wart to power them.
I got mine on eBay from China in about a week and free shipping. Seller Amazool. They are great, I'm switching my lighting over to LED from CFL this year.
Knocked out 40 of these today. 15 Green, 15 Blue and 10 UV. I'm super proud of the RCA Box:
I did this a couple of years ago and it was super fun! I didn't do it last year because soooo busy with new props and missed it :(, but I think I have a handle on it this year so I'm in. Can safely...
Hopefully they will allow Pictures and I will post them here.
I can not thank you enough for the time you are taking to show us how to do all of this. Have been wanting to learn this for the longest time. I already have singing pumpkins but it's just one song...
So Jazzed, Just got tickets for this event:
I'm giddy just thinking about it!
I almost wonder if this could be done like an Axworthy Ghost but low to the ground and with a rubber snake....of course not across a walkway but maybe along the side of a walkway,...
Don't know which tut you are using but I used this one:
I have seen this on and off CL for the last 3 years. It is the ultimate Halloween prop. I have a 1973 Cadillac Hearse in my yard haunt. Everyone loves it. It's also great for hauling stuff.
I have quite a few you might want to rent. What is your budget? Look at my photo album here to see if it's what you're looking for...
Here is a video of it in action. This was my test one using a 9v battery but actual ones will be connected to 12 vdc wall wart via RCA jacks. So far they're coming in at around a buck to make....
Now that I have gotten everything and found I need 2 in a series but then the series of 2 each will be parallel. Did fire them up last night and they look great! Now all my JOL's all flash...
Which lead did you put the resistor on, the long or short? Got my LEDs today just waiting for resistors.
Yeah with the LED's I got this year it was awesome! These are the ones I got:
On the led.linear1.org site:
How many LEDs can I drive in series?
LED basics Practical LEDs
It depends on your supply voltage. You have to be able to overcome the cumulative...
Again thanks for the heads up Derek. Bidding on a lot of 50 now for $3.00. Also for the led.linear1.org site. I discovered that at 2V forward, I can get 6 on each 12VDC wall wart. I have 18 JOLs...
I used liquid starch and school glue with paper grocery bags. Then coated with deck sealer. They stay outside for 2 weeks.
Thanks again Derek! I can't wait to get started with this. The flicker unit I built about 6 years ago crapped out this year so this will be great. Going to hit up Radio Shack for the resistors.
I ordered them, thanks for the link. Actually, I'm not building candles. I going to replace the flicker in my foam JOLs. What size resistor do I need and how many can I put on a 12 volt wall wart?...
I built a couple of these:
Saved a ton of money.
Where do you get the 5mm LED flicker bulbs? I saw some on eBay but thought maybe you get them somewhere else.
