Extra special "somethings" should be IN ALL OF OUR takes, if we ever get "something"...
just for waiting ...and "understanding" without more of an explainatin of "I am busy"...

I just caught this here......I'm not to worried cause I know the responsibilities he has had with getting that haunt ready.....I'm so guilty of not sending my families birthday boxes of stuff on time that I guess I understand what he is going through right now. When I won the coffin contest he sent my prize right away & it was wonderful that he added an additional mask that was not even on the web site yet.
I have not a doubt in mind that Rob will come through because he is that kind of guy. As I said I was suspecting he was busy as hell with all they had to have completed by a certain date. He'll pop up as soon as he gets a chance to catch his breath!
Muffy - do appreciate your calm and genereous approach. I have always looked to your positive and kind replies on this forum and hold your opinions high and golden.
Rob may be a wonderful guy, and I have seen where others have expressed very nice things about him. I am sorry if things are difficult for him. But that doesn't replace the fact that
he has failed to be honorable in a timely manner with his sponsorship and his offering, in this instance. I know I would be "more" understanding , if he at least communicated.
The one communication ,I did recieve, was an apology and statement that he was going be sending something in a week.
The prize is really incidental to me- after all, again I reiterate, I lost in the tie. I am good with that. I had terrific fun, got some props built and my PRIZE was meeting amd making friends with wonderful people like Bloodhound, You, Ghoul Friday, Bethene, Hallorenesce, Ahwaheeliz to name only a few. I really didn't expect to recieve anything....
smile.... It was Rob, who set that expectation, (which I thought at the time) , was extremely
genereous. So my impression of this now, is that , this is not good business relations. Rob may be a very nice person. He may be very busy. He may be struggling to make ends meet with his business and personal life. ( alot of people are- ) But it is not good business not communicate with your customers or winners of a contest that Bodybagging sponsored if he cannot do as he stated. Own up, lay the cards on the table. I certainly would be more tolerate if the expectations where not misleading.
In the rules of the contest Larry / Halloween forum do not have any control over the sponsorship / prizes. So I feel Larry shouldn't have been "looked" to on this manner. However, Yes, I think its important information for Larry to have in the future regarding Bodybagging sponsoring in the future. It does reflect on the forum somewhat....and probably more importantly, is reflecting on Bodybagging pool of potential customers.
Muffy, your a pretty sauve business woman yourself. Would you have handled this situation the same way? It is crunch time for you as well. Do you say one thing and then ignore
your commitments or word? What do you do when you cannot carry forward with something you have stated you would do? I bet your answer is communicate.
Perhaps to Rob , he feels that THIS situation is not the important one at hand, and is small and minute compared to other things he is dealing with. But it is the series of small minute
things that make or break a business. Not the "one" big thing.
So, I am a little soured by the experience and sorry that I am posting that I am negative toward someone. I think that is harsh and embarrassing on an open forum such as this, but I will put my disclaimer in....THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION based on the facts that I have.
Ofcourse, my opinion could change at any second (lol).....and I might have to eat my words, because once I learn all the facts...it might be for horrendeous reasons Rob has not communicated. But,
if its just because he's "too busy ".... then shame on him for not communicating that everyone is SOL until he finds the time to take care of the "meaningless" business. Again- Just my opinion that I wish to express. I am not mad....just "soured" regarding this experience with Bodybagging. LOL !

I say this with a warm smile on my face......ok...I cannot makes excuses for others BUT when you bring up my business & how I conduct matters.......I could be dying but I try to never not keep my word. See I'm afraid of that cause I'm getting to be an old lady and as you go through life if you don't learn well from your mistakes ...you're just plain stupid. But younger people....they are still in the learning mode.
I know how people talk just as the conversation here is coming together, that is what happens that can hurt business you may have HAD. Times are tough right now my friends for us little business owners so ya gotta be at your best in times like this or at any time for that matter. I had an incident this morning that put a knot in my belly that I had to address, actually a business situation that kept me up all night, so after a brief couple of hours of sleep I sat down here & addressed it this morning even before I CAME HERE!!! And this is usually where I wake up, yup...Muffy wakes up reading what you guys typed thru the night. So yes communication is a key factor in these types of situations. The longer you let things go the worse the story is they are gonna spread about you. I mean if we were talking about a vendor that did this to us we would all take note not to give them our business and thats how we protect each other within our PRETTY LARGE GROUP!
Anyways.....we all do things differently and so perhaps in being Rob's friend we should all try & point out to him to reconsider when he does "Things" like this. And as far as Larry is concerned, this in no way has anything to do with him. BUT I also want to address once again as I have before.......finding anyone right now with any size business to offer their wares as prizes is a very considerate thing with this economy>>>>>>okok I know I'm making additional excuses for him. So ok ROB ....you bad boy(in my James Cagney Voice)......you better get yourself straight or MOMMA MUFFY (hey never used that one before) is gonna come up there , make you drop your drawers & I'm gonna beat your hiney!!!
Still I feel for the guy cause those big haunts make ya crazy because of the time frames on them....having to be done by the beginning of October! Whew!! So Robby My Dear when you come out face to face again me thinks you are gonna get a scolding from your Pals here at Halloween Forum but I sure hope we don't scare him away.
lol, Alrighty then. So nobody has heard from Rob. We have no idea as to what is going on with him. I understand how you feel with the frustration that comes from the lack of communication. I have felt the same way myself. When I didn't have the whole "story" or any "story". However I have found that being to quick to judge one without any facts is wrong.
Blowing off steam from the frustration of the unknown or lack of communication is fine. I for one am glad to have had the chance to participate in this contest. Like my friend The Frog Queen. I too had the chance to meet a whole new group of people, and I am thankfull for that. Let's not lose sight of this contest. "Momma Muff", Toetag and The Frog Queen. Now, that was fun! Frog Queen you deserve a prize as far as I am cocerned. You were if I remember right only one vote away from tieing in the vote off! To tie again would have been just too cool. Everyone who enterd this contest did a fantastic job! Prizes? Are they really that important? Let me ask this: Would you guys have participated in this contest or any other contests if the only prize was to be annouced as 1st - 2nd - 3rd?
Oh I agree with the things you said, Muffy and you too Bloodhound.
I am certainly not out to intentionally hurt Rob, Bodybag Entertainment....
and I don't set myself as judge on this for everyone else.
Yes, I do understand about the ecomony and business. Everyone, everywhere is stuggling.
The little business people are really having to scratch out their niches, and yes, perhaps
some of the less "experienced" don't understand the ins and outs or have never had to focus this hard before to keep their heads above water. Even so, the experienced ones
are having their own set of problems keeping their heads above water. It is dog eat dog out there. And the government isn't about to be bailing out the little guys. That is why it is important, even going down in a sinking situation that you try to keep all your networks and contacts clean..... communication is the key in all business deals.
So perhaps Rob cannot forfill his sponsorship .
I would think of him a better man, to say to me, or to any of us. "Hey, I just want to touch base with you. I know I said I would ( Send, provide....etc.) .But circumstances have been a bit unusual and I am working really hard to put everything in order. I will not be able to honor this until perhaps after the holidays, or next year ....or never. But I do want to let you know that I am aware of this situation and haven't forgotten."
Don't promise something and not do it. Then ignore it.
As for the prizes Bloodhound....
To be honest. No , the array of prizes for this contest is not what prompted me to enter the contest. The prizes were never my goal ( and really isn't now).....
The contest was a personal "goal" to stretch me in my prop building and learning technique. That , it did. The contest itself was my "sounding" board, beyond my friends and family critique. And the contest ( and forum) introduces me to like minded people and craftmen and lends a creedence to what I enjoy doing and teaches me better ways to do it.
( Again beyond family and friends.)
And yes, I would consider entering a contest where the only prize is recongnition.
However, it still does not change the fact that Bodybagging (or Rob) has failed to meet his
obligations of sponsorship timely. And in my opinion......( at this time) sours me to a man's word. That's all. Like I said. It is only my opinion, at this time, with the facts I do know.
I am really not trying to be a Bi tch about it. And I don't really expect a prize...
( but thank you Bloodhound for suggesting I deserve one.)......

I am just asking for him to respect his word and to who he offered up to. ( sincerely)
If he cannot honor his own words or commitment, then own up to it....and I will respect that more, than his negatation or avoidance. Its just good business ( and friendship) that way.
So with this......I think I shall end my little commentary on the subject.
I have stirred the pot.....and my intentions were not to get it boiling, but to make my own scarastic statement and go on. After my own scarasim....I thought best to explain ( clarifiy) my feelings/opinion.....to which , it seems to only stirred the pot some more. LOL.
I am really not trying to cause trouble for Rob publicly.....
I do hope that he gets it together and wish him the best through the season.
So any further comments on this subject I think my replies will be best kept through
personal PM;s....otherwise I am gonna drop it. I have my own Halloween things going on

Ok a few more words here......I'm sorry but I will admit to something.......I don't enter these contest to win anything......I enter because I'm thrilled to death to feel worthy of being in this building group....that was my big thing in the coffin contest I was thrilled to be with you guys, it made me feel like I finally arrived. Then the state of our garage was hysterical, there is no other way to put it, but Jer got some fire under his butt & cleaned 1/2 of that garage up for the scary scene contest. I entered so late because I knew we could never get it done in time but Jer so enjoys these contest with you guys.
I was in the scary scene contest because I JUST WANTED TO GET THAT PART OF MY HAUNT DONE!!! Thats its kids....prize, winning was not even a mere thought on my mind. I actually felt bad winning after just winning the coffin contest. I mean we just do what we do here & you guys vote so yes once again I was thrilled to be voted #1 BY YOU PEOPLE. It did a lot more for me & Jer than you know. We had such fun with all of you & in doing our garage & even finding a kid to be in our scene......I mean we even got JOE to lay on the table too, now thats really something!!!lol
I'm sorry my attitude may not be what some of you expect but I am done with my big mouth opinions, that time in my life is over. Now I want to just kick back & relax & with my health issues I HAVE TOO. I'm in this forum because I come here to relax & I try to watch my mouth cause I had a pretty big mouth in my life, but I had to give up the stressful producing things I was doing and slow down....yup thats why I'm here and I try to conduct myself in here like I do in business.....never discuss politics, religion or sex.
I come here only for HALLOWEENIE THINGS!!! Whatever you guys want to discuss is fine I just prefer to keep my opinions to myself & be friends w/ everyone. The only time in here I ever opened my mouth was when that newbie Monster Mash guy insulted one of our new members then got things brewing on 2 other threads......I wrote that WE JUST DON"T CONDUCT OURSELVES LIKE THAT IN HERE!
So if Rob never reappears or never sends the prizes...I don't really care....but I have way more faith in him than that...he's a good guy, he'll surface. When you been around as long as me you know things have a course they follow, some end good, some not so good and I'm just happy I finally have come to terms with not getting excited over the outcome!!

Heres my thoughts first im not mad but one thing that bothers me is you havent been here in a month but logged into another forum 1 week ago. You could of done the same for us and said out of latex ,foot fell off ,family emergency or what ever i mean hell your hair could be on fire for all i know. Just want to know is all. Im not gonna get mad b/c something happened. I go by the policy of grass grows and things break i get that. Just a little note that says hey i didnt forget about you is all i ask.
