I bought this kit a couple years ago and never had the right project to use it for, so I'm offering it here. This includes:

*DC-16 Board preprogrammed to run the WickLeds. You might be able to reprogram it back to a standard DC-16
* 16 WickLed Units
* Prop Pot with cable
* Power adaptor



Everything that came with the kit is here, including the anti-static bags. THIS UNIT HAS NEVER BEEN USED! I unwrapped two of the LED units to test out the board back when I got it. The rest of the LED units have never been unwrapped and I've never put the kit to use.

The kit is no longer being sold but you can find documentation online about it. I'm also including a two-page setup guide I downloaded.

What does your kit do? What's the kit for? I have a nerve center to trade and live in Ohio

Basically the kit is like having 16 flickering LED's, but each LED unit has 3 LED's which give a more realistic effect. The DC-16 powers the 16 LED clusters and also can be triggered so that all the LED's come on or off at once, or come on/off in order 1 to 16, or in groups of two at a time, or in a ping pong fashion. So, for instance, you can set up a room full of candles and turn them all on and off with one trigger, or trigger the unit and they come on one at a time in order around the room. The Prop Pot can be hooked up to control how much the clusters flicker.

I never really explored what all the kit could do. I never had a scene where I could use such an effect. Of course you could just set it up to run 16 candles all night without triggering anything.

Wanted to add that the DC-16 board is preprogrammed to run the LED's but the literature mentions that you could convert it back to a standard DC-16 board which would let you control up to 16 DC devices like lights and motors. HOWEVER!! The DC-16 board is no longer made, and I don't know if EFX-TEK would still have the conversion process available, or if it would cost anything. I'm also not sure if, should you be able to convert the board back to standard, you would need a Prop-1 or similar to control it. I believe you would but I've never jumped that far into the electronic details.

I am interested in this kit. I looked around for a video of the kit at work. You wouldn't by chance have a video of the kit working?

MET42: I can set it up tonight and put a video together using the two units I have loose. I'll post a video here later.

Here is a video showing the unit in action. Also wanted to clarify that the board DOES NOT have trigger inputs. The board runs it's program when power is applied, so you could set up a switch, foot switch or one of the security motion detectors to send power to the board and start the routine.
