I'dd PREFER have someone local come grab these, but would be willing to ship if someone wants to pay. (HEAVY).
Last year just before Halloween, our shed collapsed, and these are a few of the things I salvaged initially, but have since decided to dispose of.
First up, a small (4ft) Jacob's Ladder. The case was utterly destroyed, and will need to be redone, but the thing is in working condition and I'd like to leave it that way for someone that might be nervous and want's to see how they are put together. It really should be dismantled and put into a nice display, though.
Here's an old pic...
And old video of it working.
Everything above the base is gone...except the wires making the actual ladder.
The reason I'm not fixing it is I built a much bigger one.
I believe this was an old 9000V transformer, but the base is still sealed so I can't check.
Looking for $20.
Which brings us to item 2 and 3.
Shortly after the shed incident, I was given 3 used Neon Sign Transformers. Big and heavy, I built one into a massive Jacob's ladder, and set the others aside with dreams of making some Tesla Coils.
The immense time and cost of that project, however, makes me realize it's not likely to happen anytime in the foreseeable future, and someone may as well make a Jacob's ladder or two with them. These are 12000V transformers, I'll get specific model/specs later.
Looking for $30.
I'll happily answer any questions you might have on using these items to build a Jacob's ladder, and even show you if you can come pick them up.
