    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a skull making business called Cryptic Imports. I have been lurking on this forum for about a year and came across a thread discussing that this business was for sale on Ebay. It has always been a dream of mine to somehow get into a business that I would love doing and this is definately it (even though it's only in my spare time because I still have a boring fulltime job and five kids). I wanted to thank this forum, because I never would have found this business if I wasn't on this site.

We have just redone the entire site so please check it out and let me know what you think. Any suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated. We are in the process of taking some better pics of the skulls as the ones shown don't do them justice. We also are working on some more products like Cryptic Zombies and Mummies and they will be available soon.

    Thank you,

    Mark Podgorny

    Hi Gorn,

Looks good. A suggestion, if you don't mind...put a "skip intro" option on your homepage. Some people may not be able to load it quickly(Yes, there are still people using dial-up out there), and may not want to wait for it to load. This will result in them abandoning your site, and since it's a business, you want people in your site checking out your wares, not leaving it before they have a chance to see what you offer.
    Just a suggestion.

    AliveNBuried,
The intro page does have a "skip intro" button on it but now that I look at it, it's very small and way at the bottom of the screen. I'll try to make it larger and easier to see. Thanks for the great suggestion!

Sorry Gorn, didn't see it. My screen res. is at 800x600, so the skip intro got cut off on the bottom. I see it now on a higher resolution.

If you're making them in the good ol' U.S., you probably should change the name from imports. I really try to avoid supporting top company executives that manufacture in third world countries.
I won't pay that much for a skull made by a company paying slave wages, but a fellow trying to start up his own small business is another thing!
Your prices are reasonable for a manufacturing site here in the states, and I'll gladly help support a small business!

    Best of luck to you!

    Lurks,

The name of the business is just a play on words. Cryptic Imports just means we are importing "goods" from the grave. (crypts, tombs etc.) We might have to start putting our five boys to work though. I guess the kids might consider their pay "slave wages".

Gorn Can you make skulls with movable jaws? A lot of the members are now or soon will be working on talking skulls. They need to be strong lightweight and cheap. If you can I see you doing a lot of business with the members.

You still might consider dropping the "imports".
I'm sure I'm not the only person who (until it came up for sale) thought that a company named Cryptic Imports was well... imports.
Then again, maybe it's the Cryptic part that's puzzling...
