We are creating our first haunt in our new house and are trying to figure out how to draw in a bunch of kids for Halloween. Our prior home was an easily viewable corner lot, but the new home is hidden away in a cul-de-sac. Great for the kids, but sucky for attracting trick or treaters.
We went to the thrift store to pick up some motors to animate our props and I found three hairdryers for half off. I was thinking of using them to blow flames through a hole on the bottomof some Dollar Tree cauldrons, but since this forum has such creative souls, I thought someone might have a better idea.
Anyone have an ideas on how to get the most bang for our blowdryers?
thanks,

I like the idea of using them to blow flames, fake or real. I'm sure you could make some, I would assume, cheap and easy fake silk flames. If you were to go with real, the blowing form the dryer would help accelerate the heat and flames of the fire. Something like a bellows. Other than that, I rely on this forum for ideas these days.

Will those hair dryer motors last? When I made some flaming pumpkins, I used 80mm computer fans. Specifically a Delta model and a Vantec Tornado. Both were very loud, but pushed a lot of air. Here is the link.
