Need some quick help if you have time. I painted the blue styrofoam boards with brown laytex paint. Took about 36 hours to dry. I used double sided industrial velcro to hold the boards to the house and boads on top of other boards. Then this morning I found a bunch of boards on the ground. It seems too cold here in MN and the back of the velcro wouldn't hold to the boards. It even took some of the laytex paint off some but, not others. What can I use to make them stick better? The velcro sticks fine to the house window frames. So I'm kind of at a loss. I was thinking maybe super glue to the back of the velcro strips that attach to the styrofoam boards. I can't do anything with the window frames since they are new and hubby would literally rip my head off if I tried drilling to them.
Well, I'm going to have to scrubb the boards this year it looks like. The liquid nails seems like a great idea. The prob. that I came across got worse. A couple boards stayed up on the house but, then that night it rained. The paint crinkled and they fell off the house. On the other hand, the velcro strips are attached to the house like cement. I'm hoping they will peal off the window frames as it gets colder out since my hubby will have a fit if they don't. I think I will have to make the boards, glue them together and then paint them before I put them up as a single unit.
