    Hello Everyone,

I just wanna get an Idea of how you guys are setting up your lights for a lightning effect. Do you keep the lights on the ground facing the house and props or do you put them up higher facing down?

I have all my lights on the ground faceing up ( no trees), and it looks good. someone in my neighborhood has one red flood in his tree and looks good as well. It really all depends on how everything is placed out and the shadow effects you'll get from the plcement of the lighting.

I use a floodlight in a bulb stand that has a ground stake. I use it to highlight my ghoul that hangs on a tree. See my threads from a year or two ago to see what I mean. Im also using a red light bulb in my MIB this year which is screwed into a two bulb motion light sensor fixture

We put some on the ground facing up and then also some on the roof focusing on what "shadows"we want and what we want lit. Then have it hooked up to a lightning fx machine, looks really cool! Then have our props lit in blue, green and red spot lights.

what kind of lights would one use for more pin pointed lighting? like if you wanted to highlight a specific tombstone or prop? In the past I have just used 2 or 3 outdoor flood lights, but they can bring too much light. maybe i need something to diffuse or "direct" the light....

    any ideas???

Consider using LED pin point lights, or something like that. There's a thread or two that have tutorials how to make your own.
