OK, so i have put my cannon together using a bunch of galvanized pipe and a 3/4 inch sprinkler valve. I have rig it up with a 12V wall adapter and i have power to the valve. The problem i am having is when i connect the power, i get a good inital pop sound but it is followed by a low consent sound (remainder of the air coming out). I can make the noise stop by plugging the end with my hand for a short period of time which seems like the valve is "closing" when i do that. Any ideas on how to get the valve to close quicker?

Not positive this will work. But I had a similar problem and simply put a reducer on the end where the air comes out. I believe its 1/2" where the air exits. I have great sound on mine now! Also be sure it is only "on" for a very short time. I used a doorbell for my trigger. Let me know if this works!!

The reason it is doing this is beacuse the valve is staying open too long. You need to have some kind of momentary switch wired into the valve and power supply. I use a Harbor Freight pressure mat. The valve is only open as long as you are standing on the mat. I tried with a motion sensor, but there is a lag time of about 5 to 10 seconds which allows all the air to drain.
