I want to slow down a neck massager with a dimmer switch. I thought I knew how to wire it up but I found out how well my serge protector works instead.
I did a search but just couldn't find the info I need.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanx

A dimmer switch won't work, you will end up burning the motor up to the massager. You could more than likely use a fan control switch witch would give you different speeds from low to high. As far as wireing it up, the only wire that should get broken is the hot(120volt) wire, the netural and or ground will just pass through. If your not sure what I meen just shoot me a PM and I will see if I can't draw out a wireing diagram to help out.

Most massagers have a speed control on them - I hate to ask the obvious but have you checked underneath? Otherwise a router speed control will work - about $20 from a hardware shop.
