I've seen a tutorial online for a bleeding portrait using a pump from a fish tank, but it wasn't very detailed and did not have step-by-step instructions. I would greatly appreciate any help, especially concerning what type of plastic container to use to catch/hold the blood and how to hook up the pump. Thanks in advance to any replies!

I was actually just thinking about this the other day. Here's a little doodle explaining how I would do it. Basically, you would engineer the picture frame to conceal the holding tank for the water, and place it just high enough so guests can't see that.

Sorry about the squiggely-confusingness of it...it's been a while since I tried to draw on the computer
