Not too warm but room temperture about 70-75 degrees or on top of the fridge is ideal also its kinda warm up there. Just make sure to keep checking the towel everyday so it stays moist.

Just wanted to update and thank. The pumpkin seedlings have been hardened off for the last few days and I think they'll be making their pilgrimage outside over the long weekend. Now, if only it would feel like spring outside! One of these links should work!
Thanks again ToeTag and UnOrthodox and others...

Hey bud dont let them get leggy get them in some sunshine and lots of it! and pack some more dirt around them stalks so they dont get top heavy fall over and break or trans plant them deep to the leaves deep. They get like that from not enough light you were using fluorescent right? If so get that bulb close to the plant as possible!.....
I need to get some pictures of mine also...

Hey ToeTag,

Thanks for looking out for my little "buddies". I've added more soil and ash from my fireplace for them to enjoy before I move them outside. I'm getting their bed ready for them and soon they'll make the move. If I get them outside and it gets cold overnight like say, in the 40s, should i cover them with a blanket or are they pretty hardy and can take it?

Thanks for the advice, look forward to seeing your guys growing!

One more thing, plant the seeds in groups of three at the time indicated on the seed pack... That way, you'll get some pollination action! Oh, and don't plant pumpkins too close to any gourds, they'll cross pollinate. (Found that out last year, but had some really interesting bumpy white punkins!) They're actually really easy to grow. Oh yeah, and if you till at the end of the season, make sure you have all the pumpkins out of the garden BEFORE you till! We decided to "experiment" and just till everything under last year and now have about a hundred seedlings of various types of pumpkin and gourd coming up! Should be a HOOT! Have fun and send pics!

Of Course the year I plant pumpkins we get a frost advisory after memorial day! This never happens in my area. On the up swing, they got a full day of sun and I covered them with a blanket before sunset so I'm hoping the ground heat along with the blanket is enough to protect them~ crosses fingers and scrunches face
