Before i toss them, does anyone know of anything worthwhile/hackable to pull out of old but functional
    VCR
    DVD player
    microwave
    coffee pot?

I'm not on a shoestring budget, I can always hit R$ if I need something, but should I pull anything on these beasts instead?
It took forever to dig those corpses up. I'm going to let them sit out for a few more months.

The IR sensor if you know how to do it you could modify one to work with the remote control to trigger a prop on command. A lot of people don't seem to realize the range of the IR receiver, remote in vcrs and dvd players. The power supply/transformer you could use as a spare for certain props that require 12 volts and connect to an AC outlet.

The motor for the turntable if the microwave has one. DVD motors probably aren't strong enough but turntable motors have to handle a couple pounds of weight at least.
