Thread: Need a beginner's guide to making an animated gravedigger

I would like to make a gravedigger that moves his head side to side and raises and lowers a lantern. I have never made an animated prop so I need a detailed beginner's tutorial that would include what type of motors to buy and how to assemble the digger.

If you put (grave digger) into the search on the top of the forum page you can find a couple of different tutorials on different ideas and designs. As for what motors to use most of the designs have either a 12v wiper motor that you can find at most halloween sights, I get mine from monsterguts.com they also have the power supplies and almost everything else you might need.The other is a 4rpm 12v vent motor, if you put vent motor into the search there are a couple of realy good tutorials on the. The only problem with them is they are hard to hind right now and the places that do have them range from 8.00 to 25.00 compared to the old 3.00 they were going for last year
